I threw the towel in and returned to self-employment.

2019-09-22 02:40:02 UTC

Lol.

2019-09-22 02:40:54 UTC

Tell me about your security job, NPC. Are you sitting behind screens, monitoring cameras and such?

2019-09-22 02:41:11 UTC

In a car on a construction site

2019-09-22 02:41:32 UTC

Regular perimeter patrols

2019-09-22 02:42:19 UTC

You should consider some portable and mobile camera systems to lessen the load.

2019-09-22 02:42:43 UTC

We are, but we're a small company so we have to consider a budget

2019-09-22 02:42:45 UTC

Armed, or with that pepper breath spray everyone's so keen on using for self defense?

2019-09-22 02:43:28 UTC

American security standards, I'm actually not allowed to do anything but call the cops and be a deterrent

2019-09-22 02:43:35 UTC

Wow.

2019-09-22 02:43:56 UTC

So I got a floodlight bright enough to blind

2019-09-22 02:44:06 UTC

jesus

2019-09-22 02:44:16 UTC

Isn't it mad that we have, written into law, that citizens can carry....but you're not allowed to as a guard?

2019-09-22 02:44:44 UTC

Honestly, it reduces risk to me personally

2019-09-22 02:44:55 UTC

How so?

2019-09-22 02:45:15 UTC

I have no imperative to make contact, just report

2019-09-22 02:46:04 UTC

And a visible human presence reduces the chance of something happening by like 90%

2019-09-22 02:46:15 UTC

Interesting.

2019-09-22 02:46:26 UTC

So, the other 10% you call and report....OR they shank you.

2019-09-22 02:46:37 UTC

Security theater is theater, but it works as a deterrent

2019-09-22 02:46:48 UTC

At least you have the car, man.

2019-09-22 02:48:02 UTC

I respect tasers. I respect LTL ammo from various firearms. Don't respect mace/pepper spray so much. Find it odd that you're not allowed to carry.

2019-09-22 02:48:17 UTC

....which, ironically, is actually in violation of your rights.

2019-09-22 02:48:52 UTC

I could carry, but I choose not to. I'm personally not proficient enough with a handgun for it to be effective

2019-09-22 02:49:04 UTC

Ah ok.

2019-09-22 02:49:31 UTC

Better with bow, rifles, and shotguns

2019-09-22 02:49:45 UTC

A .38 revolver has 'snake shot'.

2019-09-22 02:49:59 UTC

Don't gotta be an expert. It's like bird shot.

2019-09-22 02:50:04 UTC

Is that the bolo thing?

2019-09-22 02:50:16 UTC

No. It is pellets.

2019-09-22 02:50:31 UTC

Hmm

2019-09-22 02:50:41 UTC

Interesting

2019-09-22 02:51:07 UTC

Yeah. Same concept as a shotgun. Buys you time in the event that something dangerous actually goes down.

2019-09-22 02:51:23 UTC

....and you can rest easy knowing that A) You killed no one. B) They'll be easy to find.

2019-09-22 02:51:28 UTC

I knew about the .410gauge

2019-09-22 02:52:08 UTC

Which can be fired with a .45 revolver

2019-09-22 02:52:16 UTC

Yeah.

2019-09-22 02:52:28 UTC

Ammunition is pretty variable now, even in revolvers and pistols.

2019-09-22 02:52:51 UTC

I know the Russians are making some wierd shit

2019-09-22 02:52:53 UTC

A .40 S&W actually has the snake shot too. The issue is that the round isn't powerful enough to cycle to the next one so you have to reprime.

2019-09-22 02:53:10 UTC

cheap chinese ammo laced with fentanyl
