I'm just so sick of blaming myself, I've done enough of that
We've internalized self-blame to a sickening degree
Climate change is real, the consequences are real.
The issues are complex and the answers incredibly displeasing.
The reality is we're stuck in a position where cooperation is required and practically impossible. I don't think we'll do what we need to.
We do practically have everything we need to solve our problems
It's only required because we insist on playing nice.
I just don't think we 'can'
China does not respect us, and they will not respect us going forward, so what are we supposed to do?
The moment we stop playing nice, because the others are not playing nice, this will flip on it's head.
Christ
China doesn't respect themselves
China is souless
Either man-made climate change is real exactly as predicted and we have no chance anyway. Or it's not real and thank God.
^ Sadly the relative is probably not going to be the latter
Why can we not just accept the reality of the situation, maybe humanity is not meant to survive forever
Oof
But true
The most effective solutions to our problems is a MUCH smaller population
2 billion optimally?
But what you gonna do?
It'll happen eventually if we manage to survive somehow
You can just all have 1 child, the entire population will age and there will be like... 7 retirees per working youth.
You'd be in deep shit
Look at population pyramids
They'd die, it's not a real problem
People die anyway
The world is supposed to be frozen over right now, if we were to go by the estimates of 80 years ago.
Actually
We're supposed to be approaching it as part of a 10,000 year cycle (?)
It's either 10,000 of 100,000
Entering, not approaching
100K
Look at our sea levels
They're actually historically high
Could be a spike
Naw, it's part of a pattern
Variance works like that, it doesn't abide by rules like gravity does
It's nothing new, just the glacial periods
You know gravity works always and everywhere the same
But if you work with statistics long enough you realize it has no actual rules, only probabilities
