Let's be fair though, in addition to SJWs you'd also want to do a hard purge of the methheads and any businessmen who don't show sufficient loyalty to the population. I'd aim for ~25% purge rate among business owners and the wealthy, taking out the most disloyal 25% while leaving the other 75% unharmed.

I think doing a one-time purge in the population, deliberately taking out the worst 25% of society, and making it clear to anyone who survives that if society goes downhill again there can and will be another purge, that would keep people in line for at least a few decades.

I think there needs to be a hard selection criteria for any purge: A combination of intelligence testing, behavioral history, and economic productivity. Basically, if you're stupid, aggressive, and poor you get taken out. Pretty much everyone else would live as long as they don't interfere.

Colonies = Send a large chunk of your population overseas, where they're no longer at home to defend the motherland and instead you now have twice as much area to defend.

Would help if the colonies weren't a financial drain, but most of them cost more than they were worth.
