@ManAnimal Who says I don't though and who says that some of these people (Especially Striker who worked in construction and Enoch who worked as a programmer, both very social and used to talk to their colleagues about some of the stuff they talk about now. Spencer less so because he is from a rich family) don't represent some feelings of these classes of people well?
Capitalism's inherent weakness is the externality to business operations - most businesses will have one or more costs that are not born by the business itself, but instead by third parties who did not ask to bear those costs. Socialism could theoretically operate in such a way that it includes externalities in all business calculations, thus maximizing social progress and economic growth.
But that's just theory. Practice matters.
In practice, capitalism continually outperforms socialism because socialist leaders are almost always corrupt and inefficient. They're often idiots too, and idiocy tends to kill more people than even the worst kinds of malice.
Because you are 1 ) a millenial or younger and 2) you are on here

Yeah, I think what they mean is Jewish lobbies.
I think I've pretty much stated my position though:
1) Socialism is stronger in theory.
2) Capitalism is stronger in practice.
You'd need a level of competency and ideological quality to make #1 relevant, which doesn't currently exist in any large nation state. In fact, most towns and cities don't have that level of quality in their leadership.

@ManAnimal - Not really.
Consumption signals can drive production levels.
Externalities corrupt all capitalist systems.
The problem with socialism is not theory, but implementation. I can't think of a single person I would trust to implement such a system, at least for now.

@Arthur Grayborn “In practice, capitalism continually outperforms socialism because socialist leaders are almost always corrupt and inefficient. They're often idiots too, and idiocy tends to kill more people than even the worst kinds of malice.”
This is wrong. Socialism fails because socialism *itself* is a flawed idea. No leader, no group of leaders, no matter how morally perfect they are, can *ever* replace the free market.
