the state should just establish quotas for each field of study contingent on projections for how many people are needed to fulfill the relevant positions related to it and pick the most qualified candidates

2019-07-22 11:54:25 UTC

there could be different ways of doing it, one way could just be to have free courses that last a semester or two, and then the best performers are picked from this pool

2019-07-22 12:00:27 UTC

ok so the researchers had 3 kinds of wallets: no money - just a key and some business cards of the owner, money - 15 bucks on top of the previous kind, bigMoney - 100 bucks on top

2019-07-22 12:01:00 UTC

they went into random businesses receptions and said 'ive found this round the corner, im in a rush, please take care of it' and leave

2019-07-22 12:01:27 UTC

then they count how many wallets was returned to the owner (business card had all the details needed)

@Azusa-chan That was my thinking. If we want more people going into these sectors when we need to make it as accessible and appealing as possible.

2019-07-22 12:05:15 UTC

If there’s no risk to someone trying for a medical degree. Then more people will try it

2019-07-22 12:05:55 UTC

If the support is there for people to at least attempt it risk free, then there’s a higher chance they’ll try it

2019-07-22 12:06:01 UTC

And if they pass, then great we’ve got a new doctor.

2019-07-22 12:06:06 UTC

If not, then no massive loss

2019-07-22 12:06:45 UTC

Most drop-outs occur after the first year, I’m pretty sure the cost per year is maximum 9k

2019-07-22 12:06:54 UTC

free college might not be so bad if it was for men only

2019-07-22 12:07:00 UTC

So no student tuition in med degrees? Subsidy the auxiliary costs as well? Or nah?

2019-07-22 12:07:08 UTC

currently there are way too many women in higher ed

2019-07-22 12:07:18 UTC

No tuition fees for STEMM entirely

2019-07-22 12:07:25 UTC

We want more people in those fields!

2019-07-22 12:07:40 UTC

What do you mean by ‘auxiliary’ costs?
