Dont use terms you dont understand
Likewise, d00d.
And you are roughly describing every Industrial Revolution ever
Right, but this is the big one.
No
That's a contradictory statement
@Coolitic I have strong doubts that you know what you are actually talking about and I don't even believe in the singularity
Strong doubts from?
Feefees?
Not at all. Because this one we're handing progression to *something* else in some permutations.
chemical computation
Singularity does not mean AI takeover, it just means that tech advances faster than the human brain can keep up with @Coolitic
It could be AI, could be FTL.. could be stronger mind control mechanisms.
Singularity is not AI takeover, it's AI taking over advancements in AI because it's able to advance more quickly on its own than human innovation
@Laucivol "I'm gonna certainly predict a very specific environment of uncertainty"
And also
I know there's a ledge of what I know.
Another contradictory statement
and the singularity is the point at which that happens
The hypothetical situation is where I know that I will no longer be able to adequately predict what happens next.
@Coolitic yes it does, as the doubts come from you using the wrong definition
Unless you have some other form of intelligence, tech literally cannot advance faster than the brain can keep up *by definition*
So again
AI
Smh
So, thus, do you assume that we can accurately predict the tech in 100 years?
Disgusting "enthusiasts" always arguing with the actual scientists
Ah. And I assume that you consider yourself an *actual* scientist? @Coolitic
Yes
It's in the title
Okay, what is the title, then?
Computer *Scientist*
Not a low-tier IT fag
An actual Computer Scientist
Oh 1.9% ukip get no seats
Lol
And, what is your particular area of expertise?
That's the point, you retard. It's the point at which the AI is sufficiently advanced/partially self-aware and able to improve itself faster than humans can improve AI . It doesn't mean AI takes over the world, just AI advancement, but we don't know what else will happen. It *could* take over the world, sure, but that's not *necessarily* part of the definition of the singularity
