Dont use terms you dont understand

2019-08-01 19:11:29 UTC

Likewise, d00d.

2019-08-01 19:11:36 UTC

And you are roughly describing every Industrial Revolution ever

2019-08-01 19:11:49 UTC

Right, but this is the big one.

2019-08-01 19:11:53 UTC

No

2019-08-01 19:12:03 UTC

That's a contradictory statement

2019-08-01 19:12:07 UTC

@Coolitic I have strong doubts that you know what you are actually talking about and I don't even believe in the singularity

2019-08-01 19:12:20 UTC

Strong doubts from?

2019-08-01 19:12:25 UTC

Feefees?

2019-08-01 19:12:42 UTC

Not at all. Because this one we're handing progression to *something* else in some permutations.

2019-08-01 19:12:58 UTC

chemical computation

2019-08-01 19:13:18 UTC

Singularity does not mean AI takeover, it just means that tech advances faster than the human brain can keep up with @Coolitic

2019-08-01 19:13:18 UTC

It could be AI, could be FTL.. could be stronger mind control mechanisms.

2019-08-01 19:13:20 UTC

Singularity is not AI takeover, it's AI taking over advancements in AI because it's able to advance more quickly on its own than human innovation

2019-08-01 19:13:25 UTC

@Laucivol "I'm gonna certainly predict a very specific environment of uncertainty"

2019-08-01 19:13:46 UTC

@mikimof2 that doesnt answer my question retard

2019-08-01 19:13:48 UTC

And also

2019-08-01 19:13:50 UTC

I know there's a ledge of what I know.

2019-08-01 19:13:55 UTC

Another contradictory statement

2019-08-01 19:14:01 UTC

and the singularity is the point at which that happens

2019-08-01 19:14:28 UTC

The hypothetical situation is where I know that I will no longer be able to adequately predict what happens next.

2019-08-01 19:14:31 UTC

@Coolitic yes it does, as the doubts come from you using the wrong definition

2019-08-01 19:14:39 UTC

Unless you have some other form of intelligence, tech literally cannot advance faster than the brain can keep up *by definition*

2019-08-01 19:14:44 UTC

So again

2019-08-01 19:14:48 UTC

AI

2019-08-01 19:14:57 UTC

Smh

2019-08-01 19:15:05 UTC

So, thus, do you assume that we can accurately predict the tech in 100 years?

2019-08-01 19:15:11 UTC

Disgusting "enthusiasts" always arguing with the actual scientists

2019-08-01 19:15:38 UTC

Ah. And I assume that you consider yourself an *actual* scientist? @Coolitic

2019-08-01 19:15:41 UTC

Yes

2019-08-01 19:15:46 UTC

It's in the title

2019-08-01 19:15:53 UTC

Okay, what is the title, then?

2019-08-01 19:15:55 UTC

Computer *Scientist*

2019-08-01 19:16:07 UTC

Not a low-tier IT fag

2019-08-01 19:16:15 UTC

An actual Computer Scientist

2019-08-01 19:16:16 UTC

Oh 1.9% ukip get no seats

2019-08-01 19:16:21 UTC

Lol

2019-08-01 19:16:22 UTC

And, what is your particular area of expertise?

2019-08-01 19:16:28 UTC

That's the point, you retard. It's the point at which the AI is sufficiently advanced/partially self-aware and able to improve itself faster than humans can improve AI . It doesn't mean AI takes over the world, just AI advancement, but we don't know what else will happen. It *could* take over the world, sure, but that's not *necessarily* part of the definition of the singularity
