Holy shit
That's just insane
I had 3 jobs one summer, but two of them only took up 5 hours a week.
There is such a thing as burn-out and there is such a thing as jobs just not paying properly.
Question is, are people working that much extra because they have to or because they want to?
This is from the bureau of labour statistics. Pre 2008 crisis to 2010, that's the most recent data they offer. According to 2004 survey 25% were there to meet expenses or pay debts.
The rest had other reasons.
This is a 15 years ago survey, so it could be different now.
This ia second set of data by BLS as well. 2018, better than the 2014 survey by bureau of census. Now 5% of the workforce works multiple jobs for reasons.
Very interesting thing from the second set of datas.
Teens are working multiple jobs, they went from 3.7 to 5.
They are still the smallest demographic, and every demographic increased in rate of multiple jobholding. But they are the most increased by far, in term of rates.
A reminder in 2016:
43% of eligible voters did not vote.
Second place was Hillary with 28%
Trump 3rd with 26%
The map would still have panned out the way it did in 2016. In fact, I can say that for certain, because that's how it played out even without the 43% who didn't vote.
Simply saying all those states would've had no electoral votes is a fallacy.
Typical right wing whataboutism. "yeah maybe our guy is a borderline white supremacist, racist and misogynist but the left want University to be free! It's the same!" this is what about sound like.
Wat?
"volunteer" to forced labour
<:pepelaugh:544857300179877898>
acting like "environmental cause work" is an inherent good, too
literally forced work for money
worst idea
no not for money
for forgivness of money
State: You owe me 10'000$ just because I have the power and fuck you, but if you go do this mandatory thing you will only owe me 5'000$
Government: gives free money to students, inflating the price of school
Government: forces students to work money off
School: makes money
i just dont see
the government wanting less money from you for something
as you "getting money"
its a twisted way of doing it
and tbh you cant spend it on anything else other than that becuase they just want a lesser amount from you
its not like they send you 5k and then you send it to them if oyu want
this is more like slavery for college coupons
*volunteer for forced labour*
if that's not the most marxist thing I've ever heard, I don't know what is.
