I shall forever remain mystified which version we got in the TV. Because I remember digital Jabba but at the same time I remember Han shooting and Greedo dying <:smugon:512048583806025739>

2019-07-29 08:12:31 UTC

2019-07-29 08:16:06 UTC

Is this the theatrical release?

2019-07-29 08:16:16 UTC

it is the unmolested release

2019-07-29 08:16:24 UTC

So, that's a yes

2019-07-29 08:16:30 UTC

And I have

2019-07-29 08:16:41 UTC

Best version

2019-07-29 08:16:44 UTC

Gotta give it to the old moviemakers. They had carboard and some paints and they managed to pull as much out of it as multi-million digital effect departments

2019-07-29 08:16:52 UTC

Because the 2008 release has the unedited versions on the second disk of each film.

2019-07-29 08:17:03 UTC

Like, movies are expensive today, mainly because of the effects

2019-07-29 08:17:09 UTC

no it doesn't

2019-07-29 08:17:14 UTC

Yes it does

2019-07-29 08:17:19 UTC

I own it <:pot_of_kek:544849795433496586>

2019-07-29 08:17:24 UTC

bet it's not the same

2019-07-29 08:17:28 UTC

It is

2019-07-29 08:17:29 UTC

<:pepelaugh:544857300179877898>

2019-07-29 08:17:37 UTC

In the 70s or 80s they were expensive too... but less and yet they actually had to go to places and build sets which are often just made digitally today

2019-07-29 08:18:01 UTC

It has none of the new scenes, none of the shit CGI. It's the theatrical release on the bonus disks

2019-07-29 08:18:10 UTC

One of the movies that repeatedly takes my breath away just at the sheer size of the sets is the original Conan the Barbarian with Arnie

2019-07-29 08:18:26 UTC

4k77 better

2019-07-29 08:18:28 UTC

This is the original, unaltered version of Star Wars from 1977. George Lucas has infamously disowned the original theatrical releases, standing by his CGI-filled Special Editions from the late '90s. This is a fan-restored 35mm print of the original. It's probably the best way to watch Han shoot first. The original version of Star Wars versus the one most of us are probably the most familiar with, however, has differences that extend way beyond the events leading to bounty hunter Greedo's death. Subsequent versions suffer from altered color saturation in an effort to make the classic movies look more in line with the prequel trilogy when it was released on Blu-ray, for example. Hence The Silver Screen Edition from Team Negative1 is here. Silver is a restoration project based off of a single 35mm film print of the original movie that's taken Negative1 over four years to create. That time was spent doing dirt removal and repairing damage to the film print on a frame-by-frame basis, scanning the original prints with a DSLR mounted to a 35mm projector. Silver is an attempt at recreating the original release. And if you watch it I think you'll agree they brought it back to near perfect 1977's original release quality.

2019-07-29 08:18:33 UTC

Not the same version

2019-07-29 08:19:04 UTC

Lucas refused to ever re-release the original....

2019-07-29 08:19:26 UTC

Funny that, because I have it <:pot_of_kek:544849795433496586>
