What an insane puff piece.
This qualifies as "news" in modern America.
The only opposing voice to socialism is presented via video interview, seen filmed playing on a laptop, rather than in fullscreen. Only he gets bad audio and bad video probably from his livingroom, while AOC, Sanders, etc. are presented talking on podiums and boardrooms, and when interviewed, interviewer in-person. And they picked someone who looks like your typical, obnoxious ancap: 20yo beardless kid who sounds like a rusty door hinge, like every fucking ancap (for some reason).
Also, what happened to 100 million dead people?
>why are they finding an extreme example as an opposing viewpoint?
>hey, why aren't they talking about mass loss of life
pick one, dude
you either want moderation or you don't
you're not incorrect, you're just being a whiney cunt and using poor arguments
And quite honestly I can't fault them too much for going to an extreme example, since the right likes to pretend bare minimum ideas like centralized health insurance will magically result in food lines and firing squads
Generally because the 'right' politicians are lobbied heavily by big pharma and private healthcare businesses
^^^
They make money, so they don't give a shit
They still want you broke and starving, they just want that money to go in their pockets instead of vanishing into thin fucking air
Generally what I've seen from US politics is both parties desperately fighting for credit for action X or action Y
Rather than putting citizens first and improving the quality of life, it's generally party politics and party image first
yes and no. Republicans have lost any illusion of being actors in the best interest of the common citizenry after Bush bet the farm on market deregulation and corporate welfare, which has led to the ill-concieved notion that only the democrats will solve this
part and parcel of an artificially forced two-party system
It seems that Democrats are actually pushing for solutions whereas the Republicans are just saying "no no no" and not offering any solutions of their own
OR, the democrats are at least trying to do something
Good or bad, I don't know. At least they're attempting something.
That is largely the case, but Democrats have lost the plot on what will actually positively impact the country in most topics.
I don't know all that much about both parties tbh
They have a decent approach to healthcare though
universal health insurance and publicly funded college are about the only genuinely good ideas they've got so far, at least ideas held up by several candidates
Those are the only two that I know they have
but the rest are open borders, a no-delay sharp jump in minimum wage, continual bending of the knee to identitarian rhetoric like reparations, and refusal to substantively oppose the current foreign policy of endless war
