Regardless of the why, the door was opened and the matter needed to be *solved*.

So, this was basically the end of the arguement. Now they're upset I called the Belgian's dutch in joke reply. And this was the best reply.

Regardless the Green person's argument is that. more or less. you can't argue an industrialized nation with better standards of living can be viewed as a "Net positive"

2019-07-18 01:31:29 UTC

So, me conquering Algeria and industrializing it to the biggest vacation spot in the french empire isn't seen as a "Net positive"

2019-07-18 01:31:33 UTC

Okay, what the hell did you mean with the first half of that

2019-07-18 01:32:20 UTC

Better?

Basically they argue improving a nation's quality of living and industrializing it isn't a positive for colonialism. As the inherent going there and colonizing the place and conquering the natives is just so terrible that all colonialism is evil because of it.

2019-07-18 01:33:38 UTC

Let's set a boundary first

2019-07-18 01:33:57 UTC

What would you consider objectively "positive"?

2019-07-18 01:34:12 UTC

having food on the plate

2019-07-18 01:34:14 UTC

having water

2019-07-18 01:34:17 UTC

sanitization

2019-07-18 01:34:19 UTC

clothes

2019-07-18 01:34:20 UTC

warmth

2019-07-18 01:34:23 UTC

stable housing

2019-07-18 01:34:25 UTC

Have I given you new technology, have I improved your quality of life, can you eat food and have clean water and sanitized life. ARE YOU NOT LIVING IN A MUD HUT

2019-07-18 01:34:41 UTC

and do you have infrastructure and are not a fucking cannibal anymore

2019-07-18 01:34:48 UTC

Guess humans should never had colonized Neanderthal land and stayed in Africa

2019-07-18 01:35:01 UTC

A counter argument would be that they aren't free now

2019-07-18 01:35:06 UTC

security, healthcare, disaster control

2019-07-18 01:35:14 UTC

you're playing the anarchist argument

2019-07-18 01:35:15 UTC

Even provided all the mentioned above

2019-07-18 01:35:29 UTC

But they need a licence to hunt the buffalo now

2019-07-18 01:35:41 UTC

Look, Despite the negatives of the enslavement, the cutting off the hands to maintain quotas, the extermination of cultures, etc. I still say the overall improvement is worth the cost.

2019-07-18 01:36:09 UTC

Oh don't get me wrong, I am totally on board with forced colonization

2019-07-18 01:36:15 UTC

You heard it here Folks, The Ends Justify The Means

2019-07-18 01:36:25 UTC

Slavery has some pretty nasty ramifications of preventing greater industrialization.

2019-07-18 01:36:26 UTC

I am just trying to provide a counter point

2019-07-18 01:36:26 UTC

of course the ends justify the memes

2019-07-18 01:36:29 UTC

If the galactic empire of starwars came tommorow, and promised us good tech, a galactic economy, and the ability to get into the greater galaxy at the cost of being a vassalized world to provide it with raw resources. I would be tempted to take the offer.

2019-07-18 01:36:31 UTC

otherwise you'd be a silly guilt ridden twat

2019-07-18 01:36:46 UTC

and no one should suffer from a nervous system that wants to kill itself
