Dude, best time, it was i think January 04, some enterprising motherfucker got his concrete skills on, started running into IEDs poured into parts of the curb, they would put wreaks out into the street for force us up onto the curb or drive over cars, if they where real smart fuckers they would fill the cars with boom juice so we got fucked either way.

Only ever lost one tank in my column, some of the most macgyvered shit you'd ever see, it was a fake manhole cover, under it was two 152 rounds daisy chained together, caved the floor of the M1 in, all the bars broken, tank was r3kt but AFAIK everybody got out.

I never deployed myself, but we had to sit through a lot of classes on IEDs. Some of the shit they come up with takes some kind of impressive ingenuity.
Can't recall what the proper name for it is now, but there's a type made from an inverted copper cone and a whole bunch of explosives; The blast turns the cone into a spear of material that pierces the hull of a humvee and then goes clear through, spraying molten copper everywhere.

At least one incident I can recall off of memory had a staff sergeant in the back seat of a humvee get both his legs blown off from the knee down from one of those.
