its taking literally any position the left, or specifically democrats as of late, have espoused---not even only as policy, but sometimes as conjecture---and just applying arbitrary penalties to it. It's not doing anything to argue how Capitalism is a better solution for these issues, and relies very heavily on on the player simply believing out of hand these things are socialist ideas
The twitter thread?
yes
specifically the pictures, because I'm taking the OP's commentary as conjecture as well
Yeah people are narrow-minded and quick to jump to any answers prematurely
something something socialists always getting triggered
can't handle a dumb game
yeah basically
and it is really low-brow shit
idk what people expected when a corporation made a game about socialism
the "minimum wage" is paying a community fund to a private bank, which is the perfect thing to set off socialists
doesn't the game even advertize itself as being a satire?
no idea
Yeah on the box
ye
"adult parody board game"
the amazon page calls it an "adult edition", but really its not much more mature than college marxists
Cards against humanity is a degenerate game, change my mind
I'm guessing that dude who bought the socialist monopoly and is whining about how bad it is thinks the original game wasn't a full on mockery of Capitalism...
not so far, just posting photos of various cards and rules and wingeing
Virtue signaling to fellow soy-people
Amd cat parasites
I wonder if any socialists bought that game thinking "ahh yes, now I can convince my friends of the power of communism through board games"
And we can use the funds to fuel our cause!
you gotta love people who don't know jack shit... but hey he's got a link to harvard... gotta give him credit for... I don't know something.
Being an elite?
he goes into how apparently the idea for "monopoly" was originally a georgan feminist comedians idea called "landlord's game", people can feel free to confirm or debunk this on their own time
```Of course the great irony here is that that the game we now know as "Monopoly" originally started out as "The Landlord's Game," invented by Georgist feminist comedian Lizzie Magie to satirize capitalist rent-seeking... 17/
But then the game was stolen by a male capitalist, made even more brutally and unironically captitalist, and sold to Parker Brothers, who later abused the legal system to get around copyright laws in a classic case of...capitalist rent-seeking. 18/```
Thats how ideas were capitalized 100 years ago
Look at the history of kelloggs and post
Cereals
It literally was a gangsters world
all I know is that the guy posting all of this on twitter needs to chill and get a hobby
He should hang out with us
links to "monopoly for millenials", which I didn't even know was a thing, and a new york post article: https://nypost.com/2018/11/14/hasbros-new-monopoly-for-millennials-game-is-an-insulting-experience/
Kek.
They have a surprising variety of monopoly iterations
at a certain point I have to wonder if Monopoly is just being the ultimate shitposter with all of its "fuck you money"
"REE! Look at this thing we don't like! LOOK AT IT!"
