mine was either a full walled of campus when i was in Portugal or the one i attended in Luxembourg which was in a residential peaceful area of the capital next to other schools and the Uni
The issue usually is with enforcement not rules on their own
never went to a "bad" school as you put it
it's just the staff that is bad
teachers wise
Can you imagine being a teacher for 20 years or more
Fucking hellfire
cause the cleaning ladies and the mess haul ladies where lovely granies and aunties type you know?
they where always treating you nicely
tbh the janitors and stuff are sweethearts
Corporal punishment should be restricted to situations where the student has become violent themselves.
Otherwise it’s counterproductive.
Year on year teach same shit to ever changing wave of unbearable little shits
Define corporal punishment
@svarozhyc nigga maybe you just dont enjoy teaching
@Samaritan the big **oofing**
maybe something to do with the fact that the majority where Portuguese, maybe something to do with that, our women are a kind and gentle sort when they get older
🤔
Lol
Respond in kind.
Teachers where I'm from had PTSD, alcoholism or they became terminators lol
They should be made to run 5km and not only that but the whole grade should be punished for the failings of one so that it never happens again
on the topic of corporal punishment, i think it'd just be ineffective with the majority of kids, and you really don't want them to fight back in any circumstance. better idea imo is just to let them play the shame game
You have to think like China
I.E if the kids do some dumb shit, shame in front of the class
You can't enforce it top down
They need to enforce it on each other
Silly
Human is animal before he is humna
Kids get props for showing up the teachers
honestly guys everyone should just import Portuguese Ladies to staff their school, you'll get the grannie types 24/7. Guaranteed to turn your school enviroment outside of classes positively homely.
Pain is an effective didactic method
@Samaritan#195 thats if the rules are poorly enforced, usually if they do that they'll end up in detention/suspended, and will lose ***social credit score***
They should be allowed to go all drill instructor on the kids
It works on pavlovian level see
If a kid is misbehaving, non violently, corporal punishment teaches them that in order to maintain control, you need to be violent. It teaches them that ideas are unimportant, only who has the bigger stick.
If the child is misbehaving violently, corporal punishment teaches them that there’s always someone *better at being violent* than them.
Kids don't have rights we're allowed to oppress them
Corporal punishment fails if the teacher lacks authority in the eyes of the student. If they do not lack authority, it can be an effective tool of conditioning against particular kinds of behavior. If there is no authority though, it's just seen as an attack and thus provokes a defensive response - in which case it indeed is counter-productive.
