the internet is really drying up these days

2019-08-31 07:03:29 UTC

@livid_scrooge The conversation is about work during the night, in the past. Night vision did not exist in the past.

2019-08-31 07:03:32 UTC

It's tough to think when your mind is the Sahara, semi.

2019-08-31 07:03:40 UTC

lol

2019-08-31 07:03:49 UTC

when the NPCs out themselves

2019-08-31 07:04:00 UTC

Yea I know I’m pulling your leg

2019-08-31 07:04:12 UTC

Now normalize my name

2019-08-31 07:04:16 UTC

the game was fun when they seemed more real

2019-08-31 07:04:46 UTC

Pot.
Kettle.
Black.

@semiAuto The main historical limit to procutivity during the night in the past was insufficient lighting to allow for work to take place, along with being cooler and requiring to remain closer to sources of warmth, and not wandering far and wide. In Egypt for example, a single lumen hour oil candle, required over 100 hours of human work. 1 hour of light = 100 hours of standard human labour. Most people therefore CANNOT be productive. Candles drastically lowered this, and lightbulbs a hundred fold more. The result is that now, unlike the past we can work at all hours, compared to before where we were limited by restrictive light levels.

2019-08-31 07:08:48 UTC

you have a stupid definition of productivity

2019-08-31 07:08:57 UTC

You mean a correct one?

2019-08-31 07:09:00 UTC

What is yours?

2019-08-31 07:09:30 UTC

well I consider say designing an aqueduct for water to be a productive thing

2019-08-31 07:09:44 UTC

You can't do that in the fucking dark

2019-08-31 07:09:50 UTC

lol okay

2019-08-31 07:09:57 UTC

Good luck coding without a computer.

2019-08-31 07:10:08 UTC

well it doesn't matter about writing code

2019-08-31 07:10:30 UTC

the point is that when you design you are spending time research before applying the knowledge of that research

2019-08-31 07:10:42 UTC

IN

2019-08-31 07:10:44 UTC

THE

2019-08-31 07:10:45 UTC

DARK

2019-08-31 07:10:51 UTC

No you are not.

2019-08-31 07:11:03 UTC

so you can design a bridge in the dark and then write out onto paper the conclusion the next day in the light

2019-08-31 07:11:10 UTC

hours spent designing 100

2019-08-31 07:11:19 UTC

hours spent drawing 5

2019-08-31 07:11:20 UTC

That's one bridge I am NOT crossing.

2019-08-31 07:11:26 UTC

Talk about a bridge too far...

2019-08-31 07:11:32 UTC

The act of designing the bridge, is to draw out the bridge

2019-08-31 07:11:49 UTC

like I said you don't do a lot of engineering I'm guessing

2019-08-31 07:11:55 UTC

Which you cannot functionally do in the dark in ancient times.

2019-08-31 07:12:21 UTC

well I feel past the point of thinking you have any genuine interest in discussing this

2019-08-31 07:12:44 UTC

>feel

2019-08-31 07:12:47 UTC

>thinking

2019-08-31 07:12:51 UTC

Seems legit

2019-08-31 07:13:01 UTC

I cannot understand how you are thinking...

2019-08-31 07:13:12 UTC

He's not. He's feeling.

2019-08-31 07:13:18 UTC

Because the act of designing something is to make it realized

2019-08-31 07:13:25 UTC

apparently time sequencing is not a thing in your world

2019-08-31 07:13:27 UTC

To put it on paper

2019-08-31 07:13:32 UTC

state 1: thinking
