When it came out that there's a new way to capture co2 for $100 a ton (like $50 for oil barrel's worth of co2), some "ecologists" were pissed that it will "enable" the evil oil industry to keep existing
as if not having to recreate much of our tech was a bad thing

But I think the ppl who outright deny that having a good atmosphere is a bad idea because of whatever reason, are also unreasonable

There's certainly lot of not-very-scientific stuff coming from the right.
But there's are also efforts by clearly educated people.

Hurricanes happen all the time
Big/devastating hurricanes not as often.
And this one just so happened to get quite strong at the same time when a significant geomagnetic storm hit after a longer time.
