He's also more interested in gaining and keeping power then helping the people
Farage is on a power trip. Only reason he isn't backing Boris is because he wants it for himself
@Catlan exactly
@Kaiser (ICFD) If they vote to block it, Boris will refuse to accept it and will call a GE
Farage would be worse then Corban as he wants nothing but power
I think it's fair to be a bit sceptical of Boris given how the last tory gov handled brexit
What happens if they vote through the motion but the PM refuses to accept it but is also not able to call a GE??
true, but he should know that failure on brexit this time will be the end of the Tories
@The Electric Lizard Failed State
It would definitely kill the Tories if they didn't deliver this time
but farage is beyond fair about boris. he is talking from both sides of his mouth
what happens if there is a failed state? Snap elections? Anarchy?
The british aren't very good at anarchy
Well the problem is that MP's need to vote for elections
@Kaiser (ICFD) not sure it's never happened before
we're too polite for it
So it will essentially be an unbreakable impasse
@Kaiser (ICFD) I reckon the army will step in and turn the country into a Monarchy (like a full-on monarchy)
ah yes
The Queen would have to step in
"Man too polite to become an Anarchist"
The PM won't accept Parliaments wishes but also can't call a GE
((delay)) and have another vote
we like doing that
tbf I've never been more of a monarchist than i am tonight
Imagine the Queen having to step in. I wonder what she'd do, she's been pretty much a yes man as far as I can tell
don't let NSO hear you. don't want his head to grow any bigger
Be interesting to see her actually have to take a stance
Bet PeP is super happy his religon has managed to curb democracy
Well the problem is no one knows the Queens opinions
So if she was forced to take power it could go either way
indeed, quite an interesting, if worrying thought
So essentially we have reached a point where we are very close to an unbreakable impasse in which the PM will not accept the Parliament's vote but also can't call a GE
If that happens we are completely in unknown territory
Civil war civil war
Eh
I was memeing before but it actually looks like the return of monarchy is a legitimate possibility
Civil War would be a legitimate possibility if that occurs albeit an unlikely one
eh i don't see that happening. there might be a few upstarts but i don't think there is enough for anything too serious
