"Gunner's safety suit"
Some witch
Good idea on paper, not so much in the field
Bomb suits are cute
Not a good Idea on paper..
Because the only usage case for those is protection from slow shrapnel.
There is also a secondary "collar" that goes over that suit
Which is why they only got used for EOD
For extra shrapnel deceleration
@UrstMcRedHead they can stop pistol rounds too
Yes....
Because Level3 soft pads are easy to make
Back to my last point though @Uksio
Those only saw use with EOD, and it was limited because having that much protection against things that are slower than rifle bullets will slow you down, and make you useless.'
Or give you a heatstroke
or both
A periscopic gun control is a better option anyway
You don't expose any soldiers and pew pew pew 360° around the car
Until he has to leave the car.
which soldiers tend to have to do.
lol it looks like a friggin spacesuit
We have ballistic goggles that are a hell of a lot smaller than that..
@UrstMcRedHead reloading is not hard, there is a smaller roof hatch to poke your hands through and swap the box
Watch that 25minute video.
that visor is inch thick
Ballistic goggles don't really compare
They won't fog up like that.
Also what's the source on the getty images link?
Heck. Ruski tanks have a PKP mount that can be flipped into the tank and serviced completely unexposed
If they figured it out I am sure US army has som doodad for that too
It's called a CROWS system..
I mean servicing a remotely fired/periscoped gun
It's also really expensive.
Which is why we don't put those on every military vehicle.
Where did you see this band?
Austin right now
They're not out yet
Did you get Volbeat in this set?
