Ayyyy lmao

2019-09-04 18:05:34 UTC

with it being the rate of change due to external factors vs rate of change due to internal factors respectively

2019-09-04 18:05:38 UTC

tfw the entire EU has a GDP of 18T apparently

2019-09-04 18:05:55 UTC

and its grown back up into something 90% different than it was originally

2019-09-04 18:05:57 UTC

It is still absolutely what it was

2019-09-04 18:06:05 UTC

Not at all

2019-09-04 18:06:13 UTC

we have the modern take of their feudal culture

2019-09-04 18:06:28 UTC

you still aren't following; as i said, it was a bad example and you are just elaborating on how 'bad'

2019-09-04 18:06:30 UTC

they still do all the same crazy shit, still have the same social and cultural impetus

2019-09-04 18:06:34 UTC

they haven't changed.

2019-09-04 18:06:47 UTC

they've evolved into peak human

2019-09-04 18:06:57 UTC

no i used the internet as another example, im just dipping back to japan cuz ninja ;p

2019-09-04 18:06:57 UTC

but not by losing their culture

2019-09-04 18:07:04 UTC

by growing its complexity

2019-09-04 18:07:19 UTC

which is why i say we didn't nuke them enough

2019-09-04 18:07:31 UTC

4-5 nukes would have solved the culture problem

2019-09-04 18:07:37 UTC

culture is of course the universal problem

2019-09-04 18:08:05 UTC

ninja you realise we arent talking about 'since we nuked them' right? that happened 100 years before we nuked them

2019-09-04 18:08:30 UTC

I'm talking about since the first european missionaries arrived.

2019-09-04 18:08:36 UTC

@Monstrous Moonshine can you provide the article where mr Turkheimer says that?

2019-09-04 18:08:59 UTC

to try to bootstrap the example using Japan, social cohesion was a function of the values of the society which by large part revolved around the emperor. that idea was deeply ingrained into the society and the entire structure that supported it had to be destroyed for that to change. they literally has to build a new nation with a new set of core values

2019-09-04 18:09:15 UTC

revolved around the emperor?

2019-09-04 18:09:17 UTC

the fuck

2019-09-04 18:09:17 UTC

ya we totally changed everything about them... they only kept like 10%... then put ultra emphasis on that 10% which is why they went relativey crazy :p

2019-09-04 18:09:24 UTC

you're really ignorant you dipshit

2019-09-04 18:09:24 UTC

but thats cultural.. not social

2019-09-04 18:09:30 UTC

Because conveniently enougj I went over to his Researchgate profile

2019-09-04 18:09:44 UTC

socialy we advanced them at lightspeed

2019-09-04 18:09:50 UTC

And according to Researchgate he never published an article with that title

2019-09-04 18:09:58 UTC

one can't remain without the other; social cohesion is what kept the country together and that culture was it's source

2019-09-04 18:10:06 UTC

Japan maybe centerd around the emperor in like 500 AD

2019-09-04 18:10:12 UTC

remove that cohesion, and the structure starts to implode

2019-09-04 18:10:55 UTC

Japan's culture was to always be at war with itself

2019-09-04 18:11:04 UTC

Then we westerners arrived and fucked that all up

2019-09-04 18:11:07 UTC

as with Rome, the Visigoth conquest was just the final nail in the coffin. it was the internal divisions which truly destroyed Rome

2019-09-04 18:11:09 UTC
2019-09-04 18:11:09 UTC

We ruined their culture

2019-09-04 18:11:14 UTC

Lol

2019-09-04 18:11:22 UTC

in america.. your social cohesion is 'im a fucking american'... your cultural shit is a basket full of scrambled eggs

2019-09-04 18:11:25 UTC

Rome failed because the leaders kept squabbling

2019-09-04 18:11:30 UTC

used to be
