Chlorinated Chicken!
Railguns can have guidance
But not all do
you can fire it off the moment you detect a heat signature and the steer it
The difference between an ICBM and a regular LEO instertion rocket is ICBM are much more ruggedly built and aren't carrying fuel to achieve orbit, they peak at like 23km/s
but you need to acquire, calc trajectory THEN fire with a railgun
nobody wuld be stupid enough to nuke the US in the first place, cuz they know we'd rain down hellfire upon them unlike anything the world has ever seen @ManAnimal
and that's *published data*
Calculating trajectory happens in seconds
actual speeds are probably hilariously higher
and remmeber, most rail guns only have a 120 degree range of fire
It doesn't matter, you just can't intercept them
Most ICBMS are coming from one area
BOOMERS
They sure as hell dont hit from mainland
LOL
Nuclear Trident Submarines
Try again
Ah
Ur right
Literally not how Russia (and presumably china) deploy nukes
Thats the ocean
Two railguns can cover the angle
Arguably one
I feel sorry for the lords rn
are we really scared of these shit countries 60 year old submarines? <:pepelaugh:544857300179877898>
They've got about 96 more votes to go
Rip
Y dey do dis
you do realize that any intercept is going to be actively targeted with SAMS even if you CAN get off an early shot
Both of them rely mostly on terrestrial launches, the purpose of ICBM subs is you can't track where they will launch from and they are a second-strike tool
First strike is going to be land-based
That's why you detonate a small yield device in a city
who said we wouldn't be striking first?
Preferably dirty af too
US nuclear doctrine doesn't rule out a pre-emptive first strike
i actually know him
hes a really nice guy
