could just deny us a government

2019-09-04 20:49:25 UTC

no such thing; the ICBM won't be SEEN until it is moving faster than the speed of sound

2019-09-04 20:49:25 UTC

I want to own a private halo ring that I can use to defend my property.

2019-09-04 20:49:26 UTC

which would be fun

2019-09-04 20:49:30 UTC

Yes, within like 10 miles or some shit.

2019-09-04 20:49:40 UTC

@ManAnimal and railguns move 7x the speed of sound

2019-09-04 20:49:48 UTC

at that point a SAM might be a better chance at shooting it down

2019-09-04 20:49:55 UTC

doesn't matter, they can't close the gap fast enough

2019-09-04 20:50:05 UTC

honestly we dont need to stop the nuke guys

2019-09-04 20:50:06 UTC

the ICBM will already be in orbit

2019-09-04 20:50:10 UTC

we just nuke whoever nuked us

2019-09-04 20:50:13 UTC

its really that simple

2019-09-04 20:50:19 UTC

the missle won't matter anymore

2019-09-04 20:50:26 UTC

only the warheads

2019-09-04 20:50:27 UTC

and if we cant tell? we nuke everybody 🙂

2019-09-04 20:50:41 UTC

A nuke doesnt detonate when shot down

2019-09-04 20:50:46 UTC

exactly, a SAM can be guided

2019-09-04 20:50:59 UTC

Chlorinated Chicken!

2019-09-04 20:50:59 UTC

Railguns can have guidance

2019-09-04 20:51:02 UTC

But not all do

2019-09-04 20:51:02 UTC

you can fire it off the moment you detect a heat signature and the steer it

2019-09-04 20:51:17 UTC

The difference between an ICBM and a regular LEO instertion rocket is ICBM are much more ruggedly built and aren't carrying fuel to achieve orbit, they peak at like 23km/s

2019-09-04 20:51:25 UTC

but you need to acquire, calc trajectory THEN fire with a railgun

2019-09-04 20:51:27 UTC

nobody wuld be stupid enough to nuke the US in the first place, cuz they know we'd rain down hellfire upon them unlike anything the world has ever seen @ManAnimal

2019-09-04 20:51:36 UTC

and that's *published data*

2019-09-04 20:51:39 UTC

Calculating trajectory happens in seconds

2019-09-04 20:51:45 UTC

actual speeds are probably hilariously higher

2019-09-04 20:51:50 UTC

and remmeber, most rail guns only have a 120 degree range of fire

2019-09-04 20:52:13 UTC

It doesn't matter, you just can't intercept them

2019-09-04 20:52:15 UTC

Most ICBMS are coming from one area

2019-09-04 20:52:21 UTC

BOOMERS

2019-09-04 20:52:25 UTC

They sure as hell dont hit from mainland

2019-09-04 20:52:30 UTC

LOL

2019-09-04 20:52:32 UTC

Nuclear Trident Submarines

2019-09-04 20:52:35 UTC

Try again

2019-09-04 20:52:38 UTC

Ah

2019-09-04 20:52:40 UTC

Ur right

2019-09-04 20:52:43 UTC

But again

2019-09-04 20:52:45 UTC

Literally not how Russia (and presumably china) deploy nukes

2019-09-04 20:52:45 UTC

Thats the ocean

2019-09-04 20:52:59 UTC

Two railguns can cover the angle
