If we continue to bury our heads in the sand the NHS wont improve at all the front line services up and down the UK do an incredible job with the very little they do. It doesn’t get the gratitude it deserves imo.

2019-11-20 14:30:50 UTC

Yea we have a great foundation

2019-11-20 14:31:06 UTC

But it’s being mismanaged

2019-11-20 14:31:13 UTC

the could probably reduce a lot of demand by utilising technology more... everyone has a smartphone these days... for simple things they can use video chats with central GPs

2019-11-20 14:31:33 UTC

That is being introduced

2019-11-20 14:31:44 UTC

But it’s slow across all GPd

2019-11-20 14:31:49 UTC

And not advertised

2019-11-20 14:31:56 UTC

sure... mostly theyre just going to say "that looks bad you should go see the local GP"... but at least it will cut out the.. umm thats just a rash, heres a prescription for some antibiotics

2019-11-20 14:32:06 UTC

Ya

2019-11-20 14:32:15 UTC

theres only a private service that does it at the moment

2019-11-20 14:32:20 UTC

as far as Ive seen...

2019-11-20 14:32:20 UTC

I think if we look at the reasons for people leaving to go to Canada New Zealand ect and address those it can help with GPs at least

2019-11-20 14:32:37 UTC

Well GPs themselves are private

2019-11-20 14:32:43 UTC

er... whats it called... keep thinking lidl for some reason....

2019-11-20 14:32:46 UTC

They’re a very weird system tbh

2019-11-20 14:32:55 UTC

its named something stupid like that... its scandanavian

2019-11-20 14:33:22 UTC

livi

2019-11-20 14:33:24 UTC

thats it

2019-11-20 14:33:31 UTC

Ah I don’t know much about it tbh

2019-11-20 14:33:52 UTC

they keep posting leaflets through my door https://www.bmj.com/content/363/bmj.k4596

2019-11-20 14:34:49 UTC

ah thats why... its for here only at the moment.. "LIVI, which trades as Kry in Sweden and Norway, has signed a deal with a federation of 40 practices in Surrey to allow patients registered at these practices to access NHS GP consultations, prescriptions, and medical advice on their smartphone or tablet."

2019-11-20 14:35:07 UTC

I think it is weird there isnt a panel of NHS staff that look at it as a whole and work and run it overall like a panel body that is elected within the NHS and puts in the request of funds ect to the government and they run it overall

2019-11-20 14:35:15 UTC

I dont know if there is or has been before

2019-11-20 14:35:34 UTC

Just envision videochats with GPs and them telling you to stick your own finger up your own arsehole to check your own prostate

2019-11-20 14:35:35 UTC

But these people know what needs fixed and know what to do best for it

2019-11-20 14:35:46 UTC

GPs are generally pretty rubbish here

2019-11-20 14:36:17 UTC

God i just had a flash back of family guy when Peter got his prostate exam

2019-11-20 14:36:24 UTC

😕

2019-11-20 14:36:52 UTC

> You can throw money at the NHS doesn’t mean it’s going to be more functioning
Compared to it being left as it is now. Shit wages, staff requirements, etc. @PureEvilPie

2019-11-20 14:36:58 UTC

Money WILL make the NHS better.

2019-11-20 14:37:06 UTC

Money by itself will not

2019-11-20 14:37:17 UTC

It's going to go a long way towards fixing it

2019-11-20 14:37:21 UTC

LIke I said, you need to move social care into the NHS and sort out the staffing crisis

2019-11-20 14:37:24 UTC

Money training staff and real leadership

2019-11-20 14:37:31 UTC

Hiring more staff and higher wages to retain them

2019-11-20 14:37:38 UTC

Less sex changes and diversity officers

2019-11-20 14:37:51 UTC

That's literally a meme

2019-11-20 14:37:53 UTC

Hiring more staff by itself will help retain them since they're overworked right now

2019-11-20 14:37:55 UTC
2019-11-20 14:38:09 UTC

thats adjusted for inflation too

2019-11-20 14:38:12 UTC

Higher wages will help retain them, because the private sector offers higher wages @Eccles
