mine aint anywhere near that

2019-11-27 12:17:26 UTC

it's based on your income, apparently

2019-11-27 12:17:36 UTC

low income it's pinned to RPI, then stages up to a maximum of RPI+3%

2019-11-27 12:17:54 UTC

UBI would significantly reduce the need for student loans

2019-11-27 12:18:05 UTC

Wouldn't eliminate it

2019-11-27 12:18:23 UTC

Also, courses which are in demand should attract bursaries from both industry and the government

2019-11-27 12:20:51 UTC

I think back to me just leaving school.. if I had ubi... would I bother going to college or getting a job... probably not 😛

2019-11-27 12:21:11 UTC

either that or I probably would have stayed in college all my life

2019-11-27 12:21:27 UTC

You wouldnt' be allowed to stay in college all your life without paying for it

2019-11-27 12:21:35 UTC

And if your parents didn't kick you out, then that's really their watch out

2019-11-27 12:21:46 UTC

And if you were kicked out, you would be incentivised to work on the grounds that you have to eat

2019-11-27 12:22:27 UTC

UBI isn't set to replace housing benefit or disability benefit, so it'd only be like 80 quid a week or so

2019-11-27 12:31:16 UTC

under JC my council tax will go up £425.89 a year

2019-11-27 12:31:57 UTC

and heres me worrying my boiler might go and Ill freeze over winter cos I cant afford a new one...

2019-11-27 12:40:39 UTC
2019-11-27 12:41:49 UTC

Only decent policy JC has so far that i can see is the interest-free loan for insulation, windows, and boilers

2019-11-27 12:44:37 UTC

Environmental apprenticeships

2019-11-27 12:46:04 UTC

my windows are brand new.. but I would still get that loan for new windows if its really interest free 😛

2019-11-27 12:46:33 UTC

Is it double or triple glazed?

2019-11-27 12:46:51 UTC

double

2019-11-27 12:47:47 UTC

previous were single... and tbh the downstairs of this maisonette is social housing... so they are home 24/7 ... so my heating is partly covered

2019-11-27 12:53:31 UTC

I gotta say this but...
I don’t care if Boris sells the NHS to America.
The NHS is such a bloated inefficient organisation that selling it off to someone else who might be willing to give it the reformation and shake up it needs would be a good thing.

2019-11-27 12:54:27 UTC

Might turn out to be a bad thing considering the stories about big phama

2019-11-27 12:55:09 UTC

He ain't selling the NHS

2019-11-27 12:55:17 UTC

ffs

2019-11-27 12:56:13 UTC

Le presidente Corbyn keeps saying he is.
[sarcasm]so it must be true[/s]

2019-11-27 12:56:55 UTC

The thing is, "opening up the NHS to the USA" basically means having a free trade agreement on drugs and medical services, which may result in cheaper prices to the NHS

2019-11-27 12:56:57 UTC

But I’m saying that even if he were, then it wouldn’t be a deal breaker for me.

2019-11-27 12:57:40 UTC

I understand the sentiment.

2019-11-27 13:00:36 UTC

I take it that the absolute mad-laddery that is "lo fi boriswave" being posted to an official Conservative channel has already been shared here?

2019-11-27 13:00:49 UTC

You just posted that half way through my typing lol

2019-11-27 13:01:35 UTC

Many times over.

2019-11-27 13:01:43 UTC

See, that kind of comparison is what I immediately worried about when I heard of Boris wave

2019-11-27 13:01:59 UTC

Why?

2019-11-27 13:02:05 UTC

I've seen wg threads about "fashwave"

2019-11-27 13:02:18 UTC

moronic

2019-11-27 13:02:35 UTC

I'm just worried it'll be spun as fascist crap by the other side

2019-11-27 13:02:39 UTC

Corbynwave soon?

2019-11-27 13:02:42 UTC

that's really reaching

2019-11-27 13:03:04 UTC

I don't think it's true, but I don't think it's out of the question
