Democracy is the people ruling the nation, The people are not ruling the nation if we have a Government saying that the people are not allowed to vote in certain laws

And the government can’t legally change it

So what you are effectively saying here is that it is more democratic for the Government to tell the people that they are not allowed to vote in certain policies then it is for them not to do so
