I do not think we are living in a computer simulation, but I am fairly convinced that our dimension of perception of the universe is a projection of either a higher or lower dimension.

Like, from what I know, 4D is when you have time as a dimension. So you can either consider us 3D because we have three dimensions or 4D because time exists for us although we don't perceive it as a dimension, just like 2D things exist in a 3D space though they themselves can't perceive the third one. 3.5 basically just describes the case of "we know time exists but we can't do anything about it"
