The thing with pokemon shield is

Half the fanbase wants all the old pokemon back because "muh nostalgia"

Pokemon is for kids

nah my issue with it isn't the dex problem, it's understandable

The other half is ok with leavjng most of the old ones out because otherwise you get a game thats too bloated with old shit for you to see the new shit

The new pokemon is purely a matter of opinion.

Keep in mind that they marketed Smash Ultimate to the same demographic, and yet there is a difficulty setting for WoL. Pokemon Sword/Shield locks you in baby mode and you can't get out of it. I bet you a hard mode will be DLC.

my main issue with the game is the characters are bad, the story was bad, the game is ridiculously short, and it's probably the easiest Pokemon game ever.

if you rush the game, it's about 10 hours long

If you look at pokemon red speedrunning, the no glitch modality can be very comfortably completed in under 6 hours

Even by a mediocre player

It really depends what you mean by rushing I suppose.

rushing and speedrunning are not the same thing

there are games that are normally 80 hours long that you can beat in under an hour when speedrunning

Still, under 10 hours is a reasonable completion time for Red if you "rush it"
