"literally know more words" lol I know the swear words I just don't use them

2019-11-18 17:51:40 UTC

I mean most people know the words they just don’t use them. In that case religious people who go to church are smarter since they read and learn about historical events more

2019-11-18 17:53:01 UTC

ah yes, the ole "studies have shown"

2019-11-18 17:53:04 UTC

That's a sound argument, the people actually taking the time to read the book would probably be smarter than someone who didn't

2019-11-18 17:53:47 UTC

I need to know the sample size of the study, how it was conducted, etc

2019-11-18 17:53:51 UTC

cuz academia totally isnt corrupted

2019-11-18 17:54:00 UTC

But also, artificially restricting your dialogue also restricts you conversational intelligence

2019-11-18 17:54:16 UTC

peer reviewed academia is corrupted unfortunately

2019-11-18 17:54:56 UTC

how does it restrict anything? you can still express anger without sounding like a sailor

2019-11-18 17:55:29 UTC

Maybe it's because I'm an autistic retard, but I never got the concept of swearing. Why is is more acceptable to say you're having sex with someone rather than saying you're fucking them? Or more acceptable to say that you're using the rest room rather than say "I'm taking a shit"?

2019-11-18 17:55:42 UTC

@Kinky Kitsune (Coomer) I was hoping that was an Epstein meme, and now I'm disappointed

2019-11-18 17:55:55 UTC

https://youtu.be/U1pg49xB6VM this guy did the study

2019-11-18 17:56:34 UTC

lol 161 views

2019-11-18 17:57:16 UTC

Because by the time tedx was accepting actual science, everyone had already just started ignoring them

2019-11-18 17:57:44 UTC

"too stupid to think of a better word" this guy must be trolling

2019-11-18 17:58:16 UTC

skimming through the video, no study was actually provided, no sources, nothing

2019-11-18 17:58:38 UTC

unless you want to give me a timestamp, it's not worth my time to sift through it

2019-11-18 17:59:30 UTC

Disappointing, he is the one who ran the stuby tho. I linked the vid because I figured himself talking on the subject would include the study. Let me see if I can refind they original papers

2019-11-18 18:01:56 UTC

from the video description: "Richard Stephens will present the numerous positive outcomes of swearing."

2019-11-18 18:01:57 UTC

@Gustavus Adolphus is a pedo enabler

2019-11-18 18:02:13 UTC

*outcomes*

2019-11-18 18:03:31 UTC

ok that's hilarious

2019-11-18 18:03:39 UTC

LOL

2019-11-18 18:04:50 UTC

Quote from bottom of page 6: "These were 29 adults aged 18-25 years (mean age 21.0 years, SD 1.84) including 18 females."

2019-11-18 18:05:06 UTC

29 adults

2019-11-18 18:05:10 UTC

very convincing lol

2019-11-18 18:05:37 UTC

also that is a very narrow age group

2019-11-18 18:05:39 UTC

One might argue that "artificially restraining word choice" *improves* functional language.

2019-11-18 18:05:57 UTC

What amemw

2019-11-18 18:06:00 UTC

yes, particularly in the area of comedy

2019-11-18 18:06:02 UTC

It's not like there are *that* many swears.

2019-11-18 18:06:06 UTC

let's face it, swear words are funny

2019-11-18 18:06:12 UTC

so family friendly comedians have to improvise

2019-11-18 18:06:19 UTC

I think it's impressive

2019-11-18 18:06:36 UTC

Even in generalized conversation for that matter.

2019-11-18 18:06:37 UTC

@Laucivol Afternoon buddy!

2019-11-18 18:06:52 UTC

Nah, still 'morning. @SufferBuddy XD
