but if you just wanna paint the standard models it should be fine

and rules should be easy to pirate too

Maybe see if there are tiny attachment models, like nova cannons.

Torpedo tubes can be cut/grooved in.

And the beauty of them is that you can design one, attach ten together with a thin sprue to connect them, then give a 3D printer that job.
