This'll teach Hollywood a lesson to not make up false claims too easily

2019-09-26 00:25:45 UTC

He tried too hard and actually did it

2019-09-26 00:36:31 UTC
2019-09-26 00:36:40 UTC

Hilarious coming from DW

2019-09-26 02:44:17 UTC

depending on how one would define post-reaganist conservatism this would either be a good thing or a great thing

2019-09-26 02:48:04 UTC

maybe get some republicans that don't define their political career with how much they cum thinking about militaristic foreign policy

2019-09-26 02:49:58 UTC

or understand that the free market isn't an unquestionable deity and requires at least the barest minimum oversight

2019-09-26 02:52:13 UTC

a break from the party dogma of privatizing literally every service would be nice too.

2019-09-26 02:52:27 UTC

So, basically, democrats.

2019-09-26 02:52:27 UTC

Britain being a canary in the coalmine for this, amoung other things

2019-09-26 02:54:02 UTC

if that's honestly the first place your mind went to, one must consider what the fuck is the point of the republican party, if taking those few things away removes their distinction

2019-09-26 02:55:42 UTC

but to answer your question, not today's democrats, surely

2019-09-26 02:55:53 UTC

If you can look at the Republican party and regard it as something that has too gratuitous a respect for free markets, then you've missed the freaking boat on what the Republican Party actually *does.*

2019-09-26 02:56:47 UTC

The foreign policy thing is perfectly well granted, but then, really both parties have shit foreign policy, one just pretends to be less ashamed of being involved in wars while they're in office.

2019-09-26 02:57:43 UTC

exactly, wasn't coming at this from a point of elevating democrats in comparison

2019-09-26 02:58:22 UTC

It's typically a democrat talking point, though. Because it's the usual way they criticize republicans.

2019-09-26 02:58:59 UTC

well that really goes both ways, I mean MSNBC and FOX do this all the time. "the other guys should act more like us and they'll get votes"

2019-09-26 03:00:12 UTC

Both parties are shit on markets, one just pretends to be more for free markets. Both are shitty on foreign policy, one just pretends to be more doveish. Both are shitty on privitization, one just pretends to challenge privitization for the welfare of the poor, while the other pretends to utilize it for the sake of economic growth. The reality is, privitize, or socialize, it's done in the service of their own cliques and interests.

2019-09-26 03:00:59 UTC

So Ted Cruz is from my town. That’s interesting

2019-09-26 03:01:11 UTC

some shit should be private, some shit shouldn't. and really we're much too far along to pretend we can't find out which is which

2019-09-26 03:01:32 UTC

Almost nothing really *can* be private, though.

2019-09-26 03:02:13 UTC

well privately owned

2019-09-26 03:02:22 UTC

I’m also meaning as Calgary Alberta unless Wikipedia is wrong

2019-09-26 03:02:23 UTC

market-speaking

2019-09-26 03:02:37 UTC

Things can be *more* or *less* private, but the reality is, there's too much bureaucracy involved, and the regs make it essentially impossible to grow beyond a certain stage without forming a political lobby, and providing a quid pro quo to the ruling elites.

2019-09-26 03:03:28 UTC

I know it’s hard to believe but some people that famous people wish they could be keep their bedroom shit out of the public eye

2019-09-26 03:03:34 UTC

That’s private

2019-09-26 03:03:48 UTC

The only private

2019-09-26 03:03:54 UTC

That's not what we're talking about, RAM

2019-09-26 03:04:21 UTC

That’s the closest you prolly can get other than a business

2019-09-26 03:04:58 UTC

Sorry it’s out there but that’s the best example I could think of

2019-09-26 03:06:58 UTC

I would have to argue the biggest "canary in the coalmine" for the US is that we have two major parties, and neither of them appear staffed by officials who are sincerely interested in serving the trust and loyalty of their folk. But rather, in how best to leverage those folk as collateral for personal gain.

2019-09-26 03:07:46 UTC

yeah that's basically my position, too

2019-09-26 03:08:13 UTC

and look no further for human leverage than current troop deployments

2019-09-26 03:08:47 UTC

Trump just agreed to send troops to Saudi soil over the oil bomb shit

2019-09-26 03:08:58 UTC

those aren't soldiers, those are officially fucking hostages

2019-09-26 03:09:42 UTC

Wack

2019-09-26 03:09:43 UTC

they are there simply to die and give the administration leave to go to war with Iran

2019-09-26 03:09:51 UTC

Probably, yes

2019-09-26 03:09:56 UTC

Like mali

2019-09-26 03:10:23 UTC

same with the """""""""""withdrawal""""""""""" in afganistan
