Recreational McNukes for all
No dude.
There's even less nukes than gold
This isn't a Bethesda game
*obvious joke is obvious*
Back to serious time
As Automation becomes more prevelant
Automation requires smarts.
Automation requires maintenance.
Robots don't grow on trees.
A very serious conversation is going to have to be had about economics
There will always be a need for people to run the machines
and fix the machines
But you seem to be failing to realize automation was never meant to replace all jobs
It sounds pretty incestuous on a micro level but tell that to car mechanics
Just most jobs
Even Heating and Cooling systems. And Cars.
there are a lot more car mechanics than car manufacturers.
There didnt used to be
To produce cars at our current rate without automation would require small armies
And there are a LOT more car manufacturers that people who ever sold or raised horses.
There's just more work.
Saying automation will take away your job is someone who isn't thinking about going to space.
And *How* many Cars are in America?
The three most common jobs in the states are as follows
Retail/food service
Trucking (my profession)
And office clerical work/administration
All of these are replacable
Can you make a truck that will fix itself?
You can make a robot to fix a truck
People were worried about this with the replacement of horses, having cars that move themselves
Most of truck repairs are maintenance
But you can't replace a actual person making these decisions and diagnostics.
And even then there are a finite number of truck mechanics jobs
Yes you can
That's more expensive than just taking a person who knows how to fix up his own truck.
Diagnostics are already largely done by computer
Some things require fine motor skills in tight spaces machines will never achieve in our lifetimes
But that still reduces the number of jobs that exist
