And that shows in your parties
@Nathan James 123 thats because the parties are too weak
@Nathan James 123 they never used to be so insne
Which I think stems from their extremism
They were never this extreme either
YOU'RE EXTREME. YOU THINK LATINOS AT THE BOARDER SHOULD BE GASSED
As they've moved further to the left and the right, they've weakened and discontent has risen
and I think your discounting the idea that in the US system Proportional representation would lead to a BUNCH of extreme parties instead of Two large parties who have to marginalize their radicals @Nathan James 123
I do take your point
Honestly, both systems have their merits
Well, there would be more centre learning parties people could vote for. Rather than voting for one party and getting open borders, and the other offering closed borders
A nice middle ground can be found
@Nathan James 123 I think the weakening of the parties happened first, then the extremeism came in
Possibly so
A combination of one proportional and one majority chamber of parliament is a decent solution
I don't know how that would work tbh @leavethisbotnet
You have one chamber that is voted in with proportional system
There is no closed border party. Trump at no point even suggested ending immigration just illegal immigration.
you have second chamber (like senate) that is voted in with mojority voting system
like FPTP, but less retarded
The message I was conveying
Would they have equal power? @leavethisbotnet
Honestly the Republicans are the centrist party at this point
So no we're not getting more extreme "on both sides" if anything Republicans have become more moderate.
could be like Senate and Congress is now
they just have awful marketing
No, the Republicans have become more extreme as a result of the Democrats doing the same IMO
data would suggest otherwise but okay
both of them can make laws, but are in some ways different (senate, congress)
Send me some @W1NT3R1SC0MING
will do one sec
ty
Republicans didn't really become extreme. Only the dems moved to the left.
graphs based on policy show that
Yeah the data shows republicans have been generally average. Dems tho? Have moved way to the left
@Nathan James 123 I really disagree the Republicans haven't become more extreme, they've held their ground and moved left slower than previously
which give the appearance of extremeism
The republicans are almost on-par with their original stances
I don't know what US politics looked like before 9 / 11 so I wouldn't know
not accepting the inane leftist bullshit isn't "extremism"
