Nuance, is key, pot is not crack or smack. Nor are tryptamines. Reminds me of the saying "a poor man that drinks alcohol has a problem, a rich man that drinks alcohol has class."
Bold faced hypocrisies and idiocies of humanity.
Also, you said "fucking" you are by definition, a degenerate in someone's circle somewhere also.
I don't think Amy Winehouse was considered classy, and she wasn't even a man, so uhm
A pro and con example?
I just don't see the validity in the quote
Well for Amy, you could say she got a pass on her abuses with the trade off of over compensation in a talent society appreciated, as in the case with most successful artists.
No one that I knew defended her drug problems
People were worried as hell for her if anything
It's a different mentality, if you are a talentless heroin abuser, no one gives a fuck, die in a sewer, if you are a successful heroin abuser "oh I hope they get help, what a tragedy"
Point is, either way people are able to see the problem, and they call it out
It's about leverage, if you're going to fuck up in this life, better have something to trade with it
I'd actually say poor people have some privilege in that regard actually, as the fact that they are poor makes them appear more like victims, whereas rich people "have no excuse cause they have so much shit"
But again- nuance is something lacking in a conversation I'd expect from people with zero experience, the conversation was about non-addictive substances, unlike what Amy struggled with.
Non-addictive? Weed is addictive no doubt
I smoked it for a whole year almost straight
I know how it works
Have you shot up heroin?
No, I was scared of "chemical drugs"
I smoke weed when I have access to it, I don't want to rob my fucking parents for money to buy it.
to it
In the German language we actually make a distinction between two types of addiction
We call it "Sucht" and the other "Abhängigkeit"
We also do in English
Sucht is the simple form of drug abuse that everyone experiences who doesn't *want* to let go, but it's not neccessarily Abhängigkeit, which is when you actually *can't* stop because you experirence strong physical withdrawal symptoms
E.g. weed falls into the former, whereas heroin falls into the latter
So, your life was so boring you used weed to run away, You are German, of course you did.
Well it was a number of factors combined that led me into it
But my point is, I was addicted
Just not strongly addicted, I *could* and eventually *did* stop
No worries, I'm Swiss, I know how god damn boring Germanic countries are, sterile and lacking an ounce of personality.
idk, I live in Austria
I visited Germany many times, but mostly rural areas
Those are really nice, although quiet af
Same as in Austria I guess
1:1 to Swiss, ya I've visited.
I love it here, I like the quiet
NY would probably destroy my soul
We also have people here that get "addicted" to weed...My argument is they really just need more shit to fill their time with.
idk, maybe
