So the EU has decided to give itself power to force companies to remove a post world wide if one EU state deems it illegal
Germany? France?
The highest court in the EU did it.
Swedish Somalia?
Ah, The Belgian Empire of The Good.
Cuz an Austrian politician had hurt feelings cuz an article called her a traitor
Maybe she is.
Like wtf is that escalation.
She told facebook to take it down, the highest court in austria agreed with her and passed it to the EU and the EU is like. ''Lol if we think it's illegal it's gotta go world wide.''
Def's a good idea to give the court in one country the ability to control what everyone else sees.
EMPIRE
OF
THE
GOOD
~~Of Verhofstadt~~
Tomorrow's headline: Facebook and other major social media companies to stop operating in the EU effective immediately.
So now Facebook will literally operate on Sharia law. Whatever is illegal to say in the middle east will have to be policed in the entire world.
Yup
Seriously, people should be screaming at them for this
is article 11 and 13 already in effect? if not, it seems like the EU thinks they can't get rid of social media platforms fast enough
or online businesses in general
No
So each country has got 24 months to implement them from the day the bill was passed
And how they implement it is down to them, so some could be stricter others could be looser
October 31st, Come What May, Britain is out anyways.
So Fuck Those Articles.
*Imagine actually unironically believing the UK will leave the EU*
Considering that the EU is collapsing, everyone will be out eventually
How exactly is the EU collapsing?
A few contrarians here and there don't make a collapse
The EU has been able to strongarm the UK in all the negotiations
Totally collapsing /s
yeah exactly
Junker hasn't even sent any tanks to hungary yet
*Italeave.*
The Euro is facing huge issues from the economic problems of Italy and Spain, the whole of Europe is financially propped up by Germany and now their future economic stability doesn't look so strong
The big problem Europe has is even Greece brought down huge troubles on the whole thing, when it works it's fine but if problems arise small holes can sink the whole thing
You've also got more and more vocal objection to the EU highlighting the undemocratic nature of the upper structure, i suspect part of the EUs push for censorship and control is in order to suppress the spread of dissent as people will become more and more antiEU if they continue pushing farcical nonsense onto citizens without any adequate checks, balances and accountability
