I was listening on the BBC earlier and it quoted the EU saying it does not go far enough
And not themselves
The idea of the backstop was to give the the power in the relationship
This deal has flipped it
However it gives boris a leg to stand
On as he can now say he got a deal
But the EU is being intransigent
Basically using their own argument against them
Well, they just want a beneficial solution to them
Hence the backstop
If parl says now and EU say yes
They he can easily attack parl
If push comes to shove, I'd say they would accept it
For not wanting brexit
Rather than face no deal
any deal would put an end to the Brexit turmoil, which the EU is against because then other member states might see that leaving is so bad.
Problem is, Parliament.
Tied the PMs hands
So he can't threaten no deal to push this down the EUs throat
"This or nothing" is off the table
All he needs is public support for legally sidestepping surrender act
All he needs
He either gets a deal
Or the public support
Parl can not win if the EU says yes
They either vote for his deal or see further indignation from the public
And labour would likely see even more losses to the ldm
The public support is meaningless as there's no general election
Polls can easily and are easily dismissed
Honestly sounds bad but it's less the support
Especially by ideologs.
More the indignation
People get angry
True
We already saw a guy try to set himself on fucking fire

Outside parl
S E C T I O N E D
And parl would get the blame by the public
Honestly, I just love this entire thing
