Which may disrupt the German car industry
USA cars are not UK spec
Wheel on wrong side
Not just cars
Parts too
Parts come from China in both cases
I work with the automotive ind
A surprising amount doesn't
China is getting expensive
Everything electrical is
And we're moving to electric cars. QED
Compared with automation
China is expensive
EU Car manufacturing is currently moving out of the EU anyway
Precious metals. Wonder if that is why China is spending so much time bulldozing Africa lately
Yes, Legna
There is a reason JLR are opening an EV plant in the UK
Also hybrid systems for motor sport are overwhelmingly developed in the UK
Which means the knowledge base is here
So yeah
Yes, which is why automation is making up that gap
It's cheaper than china
Literally
Bypassing the minimum wage issue
It is allowing manufacturing to move closer to the knowledge base
Workers costing more
Which is an advantage
In the long run I would say so
Not for the workers it ain't
What are people expected to live on?
Yeah
Here it is
Since manufacturing is coming here that wasn't here in the first place
So they hire operators
It's bad for china
Net loss for world
Net gain for us
Population power is deminishing
So yeah would be good in the long run, short term though it affects workers
I don't share your optimism - we are in managed descent and I don't see it arresting anytime soon
