but... i dont know.. i sort of doubt that.. The chinese government can do whatever they need to prevent that from happening
i think what is so impressive about china, is that mathematically speaking... if even just half of their population stormed the government buildings.. there wouldnt be enough bullets to stop all the people. Really a flip could happen in less then a week if the people just banded together in massive groups... Sorry but 500 million people storming government buildings and shiz... theres no way they could stop it... but the chinese people will never do that.
The level of suppression that their government has achieved is scary but also impressive.
Why would they storm government buildings though?
QOL is increasing in China
A middle class is forming and expanding
i dunno the china collapse theories i've seen are just rooted in the idea that state planning is going to be their downfall or some such nonsense
i wouldnt trust the numbers coming out of china
on anything
The China collapsing theories are pushed by idiots looking at China from a Western perspective @Death in June
"They don't have freedom!!!!"
>So?
China basically never has had any
What they're getting now is more than any basically in their history
LOL
the chinese seem to have a very positive view of the chinese government from what i can see
^
They have to
yea the thing is they all buy into the whole idea of progressing the chinese people as a whole
the chinese are like ants
Or they will get in trouble
Oh well
yea true <:pepelaugh:544857300179877898> of course you wont see a chinese person in china.. saying they dislike their gov
they'll get put into a work camp
News in China: Everything is great in China 🙂
Or outside, they have your family even if you somehow get out (like all those Chinese actors who are anti Hong Kong)
And for most of history china was as free as or more free than the west. Probably until the enlightenment period in fact
what do you mean by free
^
I mean, pre modern freedom is always pretty limited, but ability to choose life paths is the most notable difference. Most of the nobility was recruited for most dynasties. Furthermore physical mobility was far more tolerated, as in walking/riding to a different area, which was illegal for many in feudal Europe/Russia.
Which was illegal because you were going into a different country, sure.
Movement was fine because of the massive scale of China
No I mean In the same country
the way china governs now is very similar to how they governed under the philosophy of legalism back in 400-200~ bc
England was better than most, but most people legally were barred from leaving their home towns except if they were drafted/given specific permission from their local lord. It was like this from the late Roman period to the middle enlightenment
Anyway, it's been a VERY long time since the Chinese have had privileges like they do now
So they don't really care
Not really, you could make a case for the quin dynasty being better for them, or even the civil war
was this true when china was feudal
I guess really... it comes down to whether or not you think sacrificing things for a national identity or national purpose is a good thing or not....
