what about Taiwan. how's that situation going to pan out
Hard to say
I'm not a cultural relativist, the modern Chinese culture sucks
China will likely bring them into their sphere
Through covert actions
Then again, I'm not sure
Taiwan is something like 95% stay independent
With like 4% saying they should retake china.
Their opinion of china ranges from negative to mixed
hmm idk... once the spirit of personal freedom is ignited in a society... its very very difficult to turn it around
Easily done through indoctrination from birth
right but you have to get to that point though... to begin with
and parents arent going to do that if they themselves also believe in personal freedom
Those that support the CCP can be given help from the mainland
So even if the taiwanese government was subverted by china
So they rise in the political system
the people would resist
now would they be successful?
idk
'The people' are docile, as every other 'peoples' in the West
They believe what they're told to believe
>WMDs in Iraq.
the only reason why people are docile.... is cuz the grocery stores still have food in them dude
the power is still on
And why wouldn't they in Taiwan? <:pot_of_kek:544849795433496586>
Subverting the Taiwan political system doesn't require those things to go away
lol
basically if the taiwanese gov was subverted and say... the internet was restricted or shut off
people would not be so docile...
That's a LATE stage policy
Well thats when itll come down to the wire though
It's not something they're instantly going to do..
when you have to start really enacting these things
They will slowly bring in restrictions inch by inch
Exactly like in Hong Kong
right and im saying the second its noticeable
you will get what you get in HK
But it will be at the point where people don't mind giving up more liberty since that's the norm
you are right in that people are docile... but never underestimate the masses
In 5-6 weeks Hong Kong will go back to being irrelevant in the news cycle
