so yeah, on a battlefield, you want a main weapon, which could be a pole arm, a bow, zweihänder, or a shield (yes this counts as the main weapon); a sidearm, which will almost universally be a sword, although if you are carrying a shield, you can use a warhammer or battleaxe here; and, of course, a dagger for backup.
