Hello.
Communism is better a?
*Laughs in Apollo 11*
eh, really the Apollo program's resources would've been better spent on a system that would outlast the apollo-moonshot.
gotta love that capitalist innovation
*laughs in apollo 1*
said resources would've been better spent on a system that the US airforce would've been willing to use for it's satellite launches.. though that would've required a great deal of forsight in knowing that there'd be solid-fuel ICBM's by 1962+ and thus not resort to pouring resources into Titan 2/hypergolic rockets... similarly the soviets would've been better off had they not had Brezhnev and the drama/petty bickering in it's defense establishment (though really the soviets should've focused on building up light industry and improving their own quality Control rather than focusing on "production volume"/"quotas")..
that last bit about light industry and quality control is very true
Solid Fuel for ICBMs sounds only like a good idea if you are trying to save money, also as a engineering challenge since solid fuel is more inefficient compared to liquid fuel
how many soviets set foot on the moon?
how many astronauts use soviet space technology?
