Half of all min wage workers are under 25

2019-09-19 02:02:20 UTC

that's 50% spanning the entire rest of the age demographics

2019-09-19 02:02:26 UTC

a pretty damn big percentage

2019-09-19 02:02:28 UTC

18-25 (50%) 25-70 (50%)

2019-09-19 02:02:49 UTC

that's not "most" by any definition

2019-09-19 02:02:50 UTC

doesnt like

2019-09-19 02:02:59 UTC

30 something percent of the population live in or near poverty

2019-09-19 02:03:24 UTC

So, a 7 year span vs a 45 year span and the 7 year span has half is what I'm saying

2019-09-19 02:03:50 UTC

poverty rates are at 14% on average, up to 20% in some states

2019-09-19 02:03:56 UTC

that's millions of people

2019-09-19 02:04:15 UTC

how long until they stand up and say "we can't take it anymore"?

2019-09-19 02:04:18 UTC

Yeah but it means 86% of people or 80% are not in poverty

2019-09-19 02:04:29 UTC

these are people with almost nothing left

2019-09-19 02:04:44 UTC

nothing to lose but their chains, as it were

2019-09-19 02:05:08 UTC

and the most dangerous type of person is someone with more to die for than to live for

2019-09-19 02:05:23 UTC

and guess what?

2019-09-19 02:05:29 UTC

You can't really have a revolution with 16% of the population

2019-09-19 02:05:34 UTC

we have over 40 million people like that

2019-09-19 02:06:07 UTC

you think it's just people in poverty who will revolt?

2019-09-19 02:06:11 UTC

yeah they'll start

2019-09-19 02:06:26 UTC

but then it'll be the people just above the poverty line

2019-09-19 02:06:30 UTC

and then just above that

2019-09-19 02:06:53 UTC

people realizing "this is a thing that can happen and is happening"

2019-09-19 02:07:05 UTC

Well like I'm pretty much in the very middle, (52% of white male income) and I feel like I have a lot of money... Just need a girlfriend...

2019-09-19 02:07:27 UTC

I mean I am 52 percentile

2019-09-19 02:08:18 UTC

another world's possible, y'know

2019-09-19 02:08:49 UTC

the automation we're all so afraid of could go towards helping everyone and not just a handful of people

2019-09-19 02:09:08 UTC

revolution isnt only the poor and destitute but they make a good starting point

2019-09-19 02:09:10 UTC

what are you afraid of?

2019-09-19 02:09:30 UTC

I would maybe support socialism on peoples social skills. I am weak in that area even though I have some money. It would screw over people that have above average social skills though

2019-09-19 02:09:47 UTC

Money isn't the only thing

2019-09-19 02:11:32 UTC

idk what ur on about

2019-09-19 02:12:34 UTC

If everyone has the same amount of money, there will still be people who are disadvantaged and unhappy

2019-09-19 02:13:13 UTC

do you really think that socialism is giving everyone the same amount of money

2019-09-19 02:13:31 UTC

My cousin is poor, but he has a wife and kids. So he has happiness in different ways than I do

2019-09-19 02:14:04 UTC

when you talk to people who are against socialism about socialism, they never bring up worker organization

2019-09-19 02:14:36 UTC

it's all "everyone is equal", just what the reaganistas told everyone it was

2019-09-19 02:15:26 UTC

becausethat takes votes away from the GOP

2019-09-19 02:15:56 UTC

if americans actually knew what socialism was then both parties would be ruined

2019-09-19 02:17:21 UTC

nobody even knows of the history of organized labor anymore

2019-09-19 02:17:57 UTC

@Apple O'Day look up some of the old IWW actions or the blair mountain strikes, it's interesting
