@Cuban Pete What is this related to? What happened 'round the 30th?
The eclipse
didsn't the eclipse happen like yesterday?
Look at the scale of the graph
It looks misleading I know
yeah it shows a spike 'round the 30th of july and today is the 22nd of august
or am I misreading it?
/beng retarded
being*
>people actually believe in the solar eclipse
ok I see it, I AM being retarded
@Trve Metalist
>people actually believeing in the sun
the jews invinted the sun to make black people #facts
I have a question for whoever actually is in here:
Would you agree with the following statement?
There is no essential difference between the contemporary belief in the rightousness of democracy and the medieval belief of your typical serf that his King ruled by the will of God.
@Trve Metalist U a communist?
@Apollo'sJest I think that's an intellectually sneaky way to try an equate monarchy and democracy. The process of belief may be the same, but that doesn't mean the subjects of belief (monarchy vs democracry) are equal
@DessertBeagle#1454 I'm not saying they are. My qustion is *specifically* about the level of political consciousness of the "masses".
I know it sounds a bit like I'm trying to subvert people but I'm really not
I don't do politics as such, I just like to discuss ideology
Any Germans 'round? I wonder if someone could red pill me on a sroty I heard 'bout one Michael Stürzenberger who apparently got condemned for 6 monts of prison time for some blogging he did?
I would be hesitant to equate an illiterate serf with a modern first world person in terms of thinking. But I think humans have a tendency to think 'the way things are now are for the best'
I'm not equating them in general, just asking about one specific aspect of their convictions.
as I said, *in terms of [their] thinking*. It's making a decision based on faith versus an educated decision based on reason.
but humans have a tendency towards inertia
Yeah but are people nowadays really making an educated decision based on reason about this issue? Or are they just repeting the status quo's one size fits all cliche arguments without really thinking 'bout them?
I don't think most people spend too much time considering alternate forms of governance. I think they have more immediate concerns and are just happy when things are going well
I would agree
S'a matter of time investment
but I wouldn't tie that in to a peasant's belief that the king rules because of God's plan or whatever
S'more beneficial to invest your time elswhere - objectivley so.
why not?
Isn't it functionally the same?
in the 'serf' belief, order is imposed by above from God. Not only would it be useless to struggle against God, but it's sinful. You do your part and suffer on this earth and maybe you'll be rewarded in the end.
In the modern belief, man has chosen his rulers (that's the belief at least). They can be replaced and it would be possible for us to choose a different form of government, in theory.
so I think it comes down to 'thats how god has decreed it' to 'thats the best way to do things'.
but it's stll a belief
a dogmatic one
