@Firefly Well I asked a couple people about your question. They said it's permissible to fight with infidels against Christians (although fighting against Christians should be avoided as much as possible) as long as the infidels/non-believers follow the Muslims' rules of war. The rules of war are as follows: No killing kids, women, old people, merchants, priests, people praying in holy places (for example people praying in churches), animals (which are not being used in the war), and plant-life. They are also not allowed to destroy buildings unnecessarily, cause unnecessary amounts of pain to enemies (burning them/using chemical weapons/etc), mistreat prisoners of war.
If the non-muslims (be they a Jew, Christian, infidel, etc) agree to abide by these rules, then they can fight next to muslims in a war against anyone they both are having an issue with.

Another guy said "An infidel can never fight along side a Muslim. Christians and Jews have some level of awareness of God, unlike an infidel who directly believes against the existence of God. An infidel's beliefs and views stem from an opposing source of Muslims' beliefs, unlike true Christians' and Jews'."

@Firefly Well it differs from person to person. Some people, like that guy, believe that infidels are inherently bad. They won't attack a person for being an infidel but they surely won't trust them, even if it's against a mutual enemy. I personally share beliefs with the first two guys
But one way or another, Muslims are supposed to avoid wars as much as possible and are only allowed to go to war if it's for self-defence

@Firefly Hmmm.. you mean like if the infidels proposed that they'll give the Muslims a large, private empire if they fight for the infidels against the Christians?

@Firefly They wouldn't fight against anyone, especially christians, unless it was for self-defence. If you can think of a senario where all Christians turn against the Muslims that can lead to the formation of a Muslim empire, then perhaps. But even in Muhammad's time, there were Christians living in the middle east and he ordered them to be protected by the Muslims

I say refugees should stay in the middle east for a few reasons. For starters, they created the problem and so they should deal with it. They can't run away and expect Westerns to come and fix it for them. (Unless you believe that the Jews are the ones who started it because in that case, it complicates it). As for the women and kids as you stated, they should be accepted into surrounding Arab countries (like KSA, Oman, Kuwait, and the rest of the Khaleej) because it will preserve their ethnicity and traditions without disrupting existing traditions and so on (mostly a right wing argument). Since it is an Islam-stemmed issue, then keeping the issue within the middle east hits closer to home than dragging the issue into Europe
