My Christian upbringing and previous political beliefs certainly had an impact on who I am today, and undoubtebly so has my race to a certain extent but that's not something I would say denies my humanity,they were things that effected who I am and what I do.

if you had been brought up in a society which totally treated race as non-existent, it wouldn't have affected you. its a cultural effect not an inherent one

It may not have affected me as much but an impact would still be made.

Societies may act like race doesn't really matter at all, but that doesn't change reality.
