And if the state own's everything why innovate. there is only one TV company so why innovate to make a better tv. there is only on pharmaceutical company so why innovate when what we have suffices. Capitalism is not perfect. Persian rugs deliberately have one flaw because perfect is only for Allah. but with the tools we have and the historical evidence capitalism ( not corporatism ) seems the least worst

2019-08-04 18:54:24 UTC

feel free to correct me with your opinion

2019-08-04 18:56:30 UTC

Well first of all

2019-08-04 18:56:52 UTC

The thing you said about comissions

2019-08-04 18:57:04 UTC

Thats what Worker Union's are for

2019-08-04 18:57:21 UTC

And also

2019-08-04 18:57:36 UTC

Even small businesses can steal labour from other people

2019-08-04 18:57:48 UTC

Not saying all of them do

2019-08-04 18:58:16 UTC

just while we are on the topic of unions. I have some things to say

2019-08-04 18:58:21 UTC

Ok

2019-08-04 18:58:28 UTC

first the core principal I totally support

2019-08-04 18:59:20 UTC

once you start to differentiate capitalism as being "corporatism" the argument gets really nonsensical

2019-08-04 19:00:04 UTC

capital will always accumulate towards the top and will always consolidate into a few groups or individuals, so corporatism, if it even exists as a separate thing, is just the end result of capitalism

2019-08-04 19:00:23 UTC

Yes

2019-08-04 19:00:31 UTC

to work in a dangerous working environment is wrong. there are stories of workers in third world sulfur mines without gas masks. that is wrong plain and simple and unions for them I am 100 percent in favour of

2019-08-04 19:00:53 UTC

ill come to capitalism in a minute

2019-08-04 19:01:13 UTC

Worker unions arent only for dangerous working conditions tho

2019-08-04 19:01:49 UTC

but my gripe with unions is when they get too powerful. some picket lines use intimidation to other workers and sometimes even violence that is also wrong

2019-08-04 19:02:00 UTC

violence cannot solve a civil dispute

2019-08-04 19:03:05 UTC

and my other point was for critical industries. lets say every single subway worker in the world went on strike today. and lets say you and your friends intended to go to subway what would you do?

2019-08-04 19:03:51 UTC

Go on foot

2019-08-04 19:03:59 UTC

Like dude

2019-08-04 19:04:06 UTC

If all of them strike at once

2019-08-04 19:04:07 UTC

subway is in the fast food place

2019-08-04 19:04:13 UTC

Oh

2019-08-04 19:04:16 UTC

go somewhere else..

2019-08-04 19:04:26 UTC

If all of them strike

2019-08-04 19:04:38 UTC

thats obviously not going to happen any time soon and if it did then they must have a really good reason

2019-08-04 19:04:43 UTC

Its because they probably are being exploited and are tired

2019-08-04 19:05:04 UTC

And something really fucked up is happening and they have the right to strike

2019-08-04 19:05:05 UTC

exactly because there are economic substitutes. and im just talking in the hypothetical so it doesn't need to be realistic its just principle

2019-08-04 19:05:17 UTC

Ok

2019-08-04 19:05:23 UTC

So whats the problem if they strike

2019-08-04 19:07:53 UTC

but now lets say that every single fireman went on strike on the same day and your house was on fire. no if subway goes on strike I have no relation to subway so no skin off my nose but for cases where there are no substitutes what can you as a consumer what would you do. because what I just said literally happened in great Britain in the seventies. the army had reserve fire engines called green goddesses so people houses would not burn to the ground

2019-08-04 19:08:55 UTC

so the problem was resolved with the army

2019-08-04 19:09:01 UTC

Even in a case that extreme

2019-08-04 19:09:03 UTC

or the sewage plant. so you cant flush your toilet. what substitute is their for that. unions and companies are not inherently evil but a balance must be struck

2019-08-04 19:09:19 UTC

The army solved it

2019-08-04 19:11:12 UTC

but a line must be drawn. or in the case of power. for days sometimes the power plant workers would go on strike and the whole country would literally grind to a halt. and because it is such a specialized job the army could not do it. so I am against exploitation but it is wrong for a union of lets say ten thousand people to hold a country of sixty million to ransom for some pay

2019-08-04 19:11:57 UTC

maybe the company should give the union what they want

2019-08-04 19:12:08 UTC

UK labours own motto is " For the many not the few "
