@Prometheus The people are occupiers.
They have no sympathy for Palestinians, and I have no sympathy for them.
@🍭 Decay 🎃 Yes, you have a point. I won't argue anymore.
hmmm yes let's murder random people in response to nuanced political issues

@🍭 Decay 🎃 Oh yeah, I think wasn't going to completely stop arguing I still felt I needed to point out something more.
Now that you brought the Israel and Palestinian conflict.
I remembered a song. Which shows something very crucial.
Everyone here, do give it a listen. It's a really tragic and painful story, I wouldn't want this to be ignored.

@Cúchulainn No Israeli is a civilian.
They're all occupiers.
in a colonial state, those residents of said state that are not military are civilians @🍭 Decay 🎃
being a civilian isn't based on whether foreign entities deem you 'innocent' of colonialism or whatever
one can be both a civilian and an occupier
🤔 wtf
we were niggers and shiiit

In a colonial state there are colonizers and natives. See the indigénat in France for an elaborated colonial system, such systems based on ethnic division can find a parallel in the Israeli colonial system, even more now after the Ethno-State formalization. The military-civilian divide is secondary in such conditions.
It has jewish nationalism yea, but it’s not an ethno state
At least in it current state
It’s 20-25% non Jewish
If a 5th of your population isn’t a part of your ethnicity I don’t thing it’s legitimate to call it an ethno state
1 — Basic Principles
A. The land of Israel is the historical homeland of the Jewish people, in which the State of Israel was established.
B. The State of Israel is the national home of the Jewish people, in which it fulfills its natural, cultural, religious, and historical right to self-determination.
C. The right to exercise national self-determination in the State of Israel is unique to the Jewish people.
7 — Jewish Settlement
A. The state views the development of Jewish settlement as a national value and will act to encourage and promote its establishment and consolidation.
@Joywolf Having subjects of other races doesn't diminish that legally speaking it is an ethno-state in which citizenry is tied to ethnic.
The first two are non points
Like being or not an ethno-state has nothing to do with the ethnic composition of the population.
As I said it’s National not an ethno state
And non Jews who are citizens have the same rights as other Israelis
It has to do with the rights these populations have, if citizenship is tied to ethnic background/composition then it is an ethno-state.
National and ethnic are synonyms.
One's root is latin and the other is greek.
I’d say ethno state describes a state in its current form, not in its ideal, while nationalism describes an ideal
Ok.
Just colloquially
I wouldn’t call it an ethno state because jews and non Jews who are citizens have the same rights and rules
Don't know what your definitions have to do with whether Israel is an ethno-state and colonizer state, but go on.
It’s also not colonizer
