Hi
hi charlie
You up for a discussion on anarchism?
Yeah ig
Great,
so can you tell me how anarchists believe the state forms and maintains itself
rather the reason why the state exists
ancoms are cool
other anarchists are not
Before I say anything, I can't speak for every anarchist, and I'm not very academic, so take that how you will. But I believe the state exists to enforce hierarchies
Well can you elaborate on that
state bad
Like, hierarchies depend on there being more people on the bottom, and those people would be able to rise up if the state didn't have a monopoly on the legitimate use of violence
You wouldn’t be wrong in saying that the state is oppressive. Are you familiar with the ML idea of how the state forms
Im on a small ass phone
From 2013 lol
You good, and not really
Something about coming from feudalism or whatever
Basically we see the state apparatus as a tool of class rule. The dominant class uses it to oppress another
It forms because of the antagonistic contradictions between the proles and the bourgeoisie
We agree so far, ĉu ne?
We want to use the state apparatus as a tool of the proletariat against the bourgeoisie, and remaining reactionary elements of society. If you agree that the state forms from class antagonisms, it only logically follows that the state would wither away as class does
What are your primary objections to this method of transitioning to communism
I'm not against this method per se, but I doubt the the state would wither away on its own, I think it would be too easy for new hierarchies to form using it
So you believe it is prone to devolving into red bureaucracy
?
Yeah,
well that can be avoided if the state is subservient to the masses
this can be accomplished through soviet democracy
How do you make a state truly subservient though?
Imperative mandate
basically if you make the peoples representatives accountable to the people then the chances of a bureaucracy forming are minimized
I mean if I’m wrong please correct me, but it makes sense to me
You're not wrong, I just think that people's interests are better served in other ways.
