Or I find a name that makes me think of something I like. Margo is one of my recent characters that I haven't decided much about aside from her name ~~it sounds like mango~~

Last names are important to get down on how the family got it. Even if it's random, still have a reason. First names are a little more up in the air though.

Honestly, last name are the worst

Cause last names also have a meaning to them

Like a clan

Or a profession

if they're from America, decide whether they are an immigrant family or not. Ellis Island allowed for name changes way back in the day

Yeah I should of been specific, at least for medieval they have a meaning

Or colonial they are also a profession or of a lineage
