Finding names is hard

I know, lol

I just borrow names from people I've met

and combine them with last names from different people

Yeah, can't really do that for fantasy names lol

Like my main character has an amazingly dumb name

I use random generators sometimes and other times, I find a name I find attractive

Last names are important to get down on how the family got it. Even if it's random, still have a reason. First names are a little more up in the air though.

Honestly, last name are the worst

Cause last names also have a meaning to them

Like a clan

Or a profession

if they're from America, decide whether they are an immigrant family or not. Ellis Island allowed for name changes way back in the day

Or colonial they are also a profession or of a lineage
