but i dont mind the power draw because it gets cold here and theres no gas hookup, so its all electric heat anyways
Any chance all that equipment will be used for decentralized communication when they kick us all off the internet?
lol if u have a few ham radios or cb radios lying around sure
try conditioning the lcd
well i got somewhat of a decentralized network in my house with a bridged wifi connection because i couldnt be assed to run cat6 under the crawl space, so i just flashed advanced tomato on a router i got for 4 dollars at a thrift store
nice
but if we're talking miles + range of decentralized i'd probabbly have to find an old satelite dish and use that to direct the wifi signal to another dish, theres a few videos abgout doing it online
yeah and that equipment can be abit expensive
How about piggybacking off the starlink network?
yep unless you dumpster dive old dishes, then its free <:KEK:795742276549607456>
im 100% starlink has encryption, you can't just "piggyback" off it for free
unless you consider a big tech company like Tesla to be decentralzied
they are a lot better than other big tech for sure, but only time will tell if that lasts
for real hopefully something good will come out of this
out of starlink?
i hope it makes satelite ISPs stop being asses
If there are any people graduating with (or already have) a PhD in Computer Science who are interested in becoming a professor at a university, please contact me.
I been interviewing a bunch of software engineers past few weeks for a position on our team
There have been so many with master's degrees + 0-1 years experience
That have been pretty awful
aint that the truth... like when they replace your boss who had worked there his whole career and knew the people with some dumbass with a degree in business management
One of my reasons for going for a master's in cyber security is because most of the jobs that only need a bachelors are bottom of the barrel and I was getting paid more doing IT for my high school during the summers after graduating high school. Other that pay like $15 an hour want a bachelors and 4 years of experience which is insane.
For a bachelors in cyber security I'd expect at least $55k a year not less then $32k at $15 an hour. Hell, I get paid more then $15 an hour as a TA, plus they pay for my classes.
If your going for a Degree in IT, It doesn't matter what Degree you have, the experience will get you the $$$
A degree in Cyber Security nets you 0 experience in the main core functions in IT, HelpDesk, Systems, and Network.
airport security
this guy i know his bro works like a couple days a week and gets $60 AUS dollars an hour
at the airport doing cyper security etc
if you can get into I.T cyber security do it
maybe he does some programming or something
but yeah works fuck all gets paid heaps
what rate to tradesmen get over in U.S?
My work is starting to open up Cyber Security Analyst Positions but because of the lack of specific functions and general work your doing, netpay range starts between 40-60k annual
Depends on Trade
