That's because the politicians heading up the wars aren't interested in winning them. You start a civil war 2, they going to be vested in winning it.
Most modern wars are about feeding the Military Industrial Complex. Gotta make sure Bell and Boeing get those juicy military contracts.
its more than just what the politicians want, also has to do with military doctrine as well
as the US military isnt designed to fight against guerrilla warfare either as well
its still designed as if it is expected to go to WW2 levels of mass battles against another large nation
Oh, we can. We just do the exact same thing we did last time. South would look like Tokyo during WW2
Homes? Gone.
Fields? Agent Orange.
Cities? Napalm.
and then by doing so, draw in other nations who wouldnt be so happy about the US committing active warcrimes against its own populace
Not saying I like it, but theres a reason we don't do that stuff to other countries, and those reasons have everything to do with politics.
Like who? China? Russia?
Nukes.
then that becomes MAD scenario
the US doesnt get to escape MAD
Right, neither do they, which is precisely why they *won't* intervene.
then you are mistaken, Russia and China are both interested in making blows against the US, and they will take whatever opurtunity they can to hurt the US, especially during a Civil War
No, what they'll do is use the opportunity to take all the land adjacent to them. China will devour Taiwan, Japan, the Phillipines, Laos, Cambodia. Russia will take all it's neighboring states (Latvia, romania, ect.)
you also realise that Russia's been poking into regions more than their neighbors, they've been poking into Alaskan airspace, the moment the oppurtunity arrises they would make an attack on Alaska while the US is heavily distracted
Nukes.
We'd be destroyed anyways, why not take them with us?
nukes arent as much of a threat as they were 40 years ago, everyone has them now, nothing more than a vieled threat
Oh, they aren't? Why not?
because, with everyone making their own nukes, they've also been developing anti-nuke defenses
And you know of some that work?
well, since nukes are missile based, all you have to do is look at Isreals missile defense network, has a really high success rate against enemy missile artillery
Except that nukes do something that conventional missiles don't: They leak radioactive fallout.
nukes are fairly safe actually when not armed and blowing up, they dont leak radioactive fallout
Those are normal missiles, not ICBMs
Dude, you blow up a nuke, there will be radiation.
I might be wrong, but I don’t think nukes go off if you blow them up
Sure the components might be radioactive
But that’s pretty much it
they dont, because there are so many safety layers involved with Nukes that if you damage one it will purposefully disable itself so its no longer a danger
Unless it's armed.
even when its armed, it can shut itself off if its damaged and misses its target
You mean on the way to target kinda armed? Or ready to launch kind of armed?
Oh
hell, if you try hacking a nuke, it will purposefully deactivate itself so you cant use it
That’s... nice to know
