I've heard 243. to 30-06 but everyone has their own experiences
I don't hunt but I know by brother uses a 30-30 though he got a bow for Christmas he also plans to hunt white tails with next season.

All the seer I shoot with buckshot drop in their tracks. If I shoot them with rifles, they run at least a few yards. No idea where this idea that buckshot doesn't kill deer comes from.
